Electronic documents get P&I cover approval  
- Electronic Shipping Solutions (ESS), a provider of electronic shipping documents, reports that the International Group of P&I Clubs has confirmed that ESS CargoDocs electronic bills of lading have been approved for the purposes of standard P&I cover. >>more

- Wärtsilä has introduced its Intelligent Combustion Monitoring system for two-stroke diesel engines, providing information that assists ship operators in optimising vessel engine performance and improving awareness of the condition of components in the combustion chamber. >>more

- Iridium Communications reports that it has successfully closed the $1.8 billion financing facility for its next generation satellite constellation, Iridium NEXT. >>more

- MTN Satellite Communications reports that it has completed a Wi-Fi network upgrade and expansion aboard two Silversea Cruises vessels, Silver Wind and the flagship Silver Spirit. >>more


Argentine training centre installs NAUTIS simulator  
- Servicio Integral de Prácticos S.A. (SIPSA), of Buenos Aires, Argentina, has become the first Maritime and Riverine Research and Training Centre to build a Full Mission Bridge Simulator running NAUTIS maritime simulation software. >>more
