- Tolani Shipping of India has signed up to join ShipServ's maritime e-marketplace, TradeNet. >>more

$2m in orders for oil spill detection technology
- Canadian based Rutter Technologies, and its Norwegian partner Aptomar, have announced orders for six Integrated Oil Spill Response and Management Systems, expected to be worth US$2 million. >>more

Libya agrees VTMS deal
- The Libyan Ports and Maritime Transport Authority (PMTA) has signed a "multi-million Euro" vessel traffic management system contract with Transas, including the supply and installation of a national scale Coastal Surveillance System. >>more

- Norwegian company Shipadmin has released new versions of its software systems, with Captains Secretary 2.1 and the corresponding FleetManager 2.1 now commercially available. >>more

Catamaran gets integrated bridge from Kelvin Hughes
- The 107m Austal-built catamaran Jean De La Valette, which will shortly enter service for Maltese operator Virtu Ferries, has been outfitted with an integrated bridge package with systems from Kelvin Hughes. >>more

Integrated bridge training from Furuno
- Furuno reports that its INS Training Centre has become the first to introduce the DNV SeaSkill-certified 'IMO Model Course 1.32 Operational use and understanding of Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), including Integrated Navigation Systems (INS)' training course. >>more

Propeller modelling software updated
- HydroComp has added a number of new features to its PropCad software, used for the geometric modelling of marine propellers. >>more
