BW to install VSAT on 100 vessels
- CapRock has announced a three-year contract with BW to deploy the SeaAccess VSAT service onboard its fleet of approximately 100 vessels, including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Carriers (LPGCs). >>more

- Thenamaris Ship Management of Greece has agreed a deal to install SpecTec's AMOS software package across a number of its vessels. >>more

- VSAT provider OmniAccess has completed the launch of its Balearic Teleport and successfully upgraded its maritime broadband satellite network to iDirect's Evolution platform. >>more

- Maritime software and communications company Boatracs has completed a move to establish itself as an independent, privately held firm, having initiated a break from former parent company AirIQ Inc in December 2009. >>more

Intellian opens satcom R&D facility
- Intellian has opened a new facility for research and development (R&D), manufacturing, shipping and training for its maritime communications antennas, located just south of Seoul, South Korea. >>more

Haugesund centre to install new simulators
- Kongsberg Maritime's simulation division is to deliver a range of offshore simulators to the newly founded Haugesund Simulatorcenter in Norway. >>more

Simrad introduces software development kit for radar
- Simrad Yachting has introduced its BR24PC Software Development Kit (SDK), which it says will give technology developers access to its broadband radar systems to create applications for the commercial maritime and military markets. >>more
