Dear Students and Friends,  Aadil Palkhivala and Mirra

We had a marvelous retreat in Hawaii, with many of our dear, dear students.  The asana work was designed to fortify the body and nervous system for the life-transforming sessions with Mirra.

Even though we had a beautiful snow cover last week, spring is around the corner, and, as we bid winter adieu, it is time to blossom! See you in class.

The Direction of Your Progress

A few years ago, in San Francisco, I was doing a photo Spring Chickenshoot  for Yoga Journal.  On the way to the studio, the taxi driver asked me what I did.  I said that i was, among other things, a yoga teacher.  In a heavy British accent the driver responded, "I knew a chap in Manchester who did this yoga thing.  But you know what?  It didn't make him a better person.  In fact, the more he did it, the more he became on the outside what he was inside."  I replied that his perception was insightful and accurate indeed.  The practice of asana and pranayama strengthens our bodies, our minds, and our wills.  It is up to us and the teacher to ensure that the progress is in the direction towards our Spirit, and not our ego!

Meditation
Aadil PalkhivalaBring Oneness into Your Life Now

Purna Yoga's real purpose is to facilitate the process of moving from a reality of duality and separation to living the reality of oneness and wholeness.  The meditation, asana, pranayama, high vibration nutrition and the lifestyle changes we teach are all designed for this one purpose.

Last year, a new stage of our human spiritual development began, when a new level of consciousness descended into the earth, making the reality of oneness and wholeness possible.  Never before have we all been able to live at this new level of consciousness--this is brand new!  This new stage of our human development is called the 8th Dimension and its symbol is the infinity symbol imagined in gold light.  The infinity symbol holds the knowledge and balanced energetic flow of oneness, wholeness, divine wealth (balanced giving and receiving), and much more.  Let us learn how to be 8th Dimensional beings on this blessed earth by listening to the creator's prayers in our hearts.  The next three and half years are crucial for humanity to embody the 8th dimension in as many people as possible.

To connect with this Divine dimension, imagine a ball of gold light in your Heart Chakra and place the middle finger of your right hand on your Heart Chakra.  (To find your Heart Chakra sit up erect and draw a horizontal line between your armpits.  When that line meets the center of your chest, you are at the Heart Chakra.)  To create the upper part of the infinity symbol start at the Heart Chakra with the middle finger of your right hand and move your right hand up the left side of your head, over your head, and then down the right side of your head back to your heart.  To create the lower half of the symbol, move your right hand from your Heart Chakra down the left side of your torso and legs, under the feet, and up the right side of your legs and torso back to your Heart Chakra.

Commit deeply to infinite possibility and connect with the feeling of your heart's dreams coming true.  Know that when your dreams come true other people's dreams will have to manifest too.  Use your hand as described above to direct this flow of commitment energy.  Focus your mind by imagining the infinity symbol glowing with golden light and feel the wholeness you yearn for in your heart as you continue to surround yourself with this symbol.  Now is the time to truly commit to a new you, a Divine you, a shadowless you.  Our prayers for peace, balanced wealth, love, joy, oneness, wholeness... may now manifest.

Tools for Staying Alert and Hydrated

Students ask me all the time what I do to keep my mind Lemon watersharp and alert.  I have found that the use of the Basic Sunrider® foods as well as additional TOP®, JOI®, and ESE® really helps my thinking ability.  I also add Bacopa to my diet every day.  Additionally, remember that Gabriel Cousens warns, "With a mere 2% drop in body water, the neurons and neurotransmitters in the brain have been shown to dehydrate so significantly that we become fuzzy-headed, develop short term memory difficulties, have trouble with basic math, and lose focus on the computer screen."  So, to keep your mind sharp, drink water very frequently, preferably with Fortune Delight® or some juice added, to make it easier to assimilate.  Plain water is mostly just a cleanser, and only slightly hydrates the body.  Water must have a carrier -- like a squeeze of lemon, Sunectar® or Fortune Delight® -- in order to penetrate the cell walls to hydrate the body.

Jumper

A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself Jumperanywhere.  This movie stretches the mind to think in ways it never has before.  This movie also reminds us of the importance of offering all our talents and abilities to the Divine for guidance.  We must give ourselves to a higher, wiser source, otherwise our skills and talents are used by our ego.  In fact, even the normal use of our senses should be offered to our eternal spirit and not used for our own egoistic gain and purpose.

Being Adaptable
Excerpt from Fire of Love:

Respect often means sacrificing a little of myself for another.  I have seen students sitting in narrow, busy passageways with their legs stretched out, eating lunch, oblivious to others who must step over their legs.  Regularly ask yourself questions that will help you become aware of your place in the world and your effect upon it:  Can I put myself to use rather than just stand here?  Do I at least acknowledge others with a smile and a nod when they come into a room, or do I just ignore them?  Do I blindly march ahead, or do I yield? Am I so involved with myself that I am unaware of the impact I have on others?  When I ask my yoga teacher a question between classes, am I keeping her from taking a much-needed break?  Is my comfort causing discomfort?  Is my convenience causing inconvenience?
