| Dear Students and Friends,
As I travel all over the globe, it is interesting to see that yoga studios are not adversely affected by the "economic crisis." Discussing this with several studio owners, we realize that yoga is an excellent investment with very worthy benefits, hence students keep coming. For $110 a month, you are able to come to Yoga Centers, take unlimited classes, feel stronger, more relaxed in mind and body, and more connected with your Spirit! No wonder this bargain is continuing to draw students while other businesses are struggling.
Let's continue the good work as the glorious future is brought ever closer by the practice of Purna Yoga.

Last month I explained that, during an asana practice, the bones represent earth and the muscles fire. To continue: the nervous system is the element of water, and the respiratory system the element of air. Thus, when you are practicing, feel your nerves spreading, since this is what water does, and this soothes the mind and the body, relieving stress. Also, breathe in the lungs feeling a sense of expansion, of widening, since this is what air does, and this will bring more oxygen into your bloodstream, enhancing mental clarity.

I trust those whose intuition is more refined than mine in their fields. For example, I would trust Warren B's intuition more than mine when it comes to investing, but not when it comes to asana practice. I feel pain in my head and hands when I use cell phones. So, I repeat: cell phones should not be placed close to your body. Even texting is not safe since the DNA in your hands is being altered by the electromagnetic radiation a cell phone emits. Please use the speakerphone on your cell phone, when you can, and if not, use a blue-tube headset with a ferrite bead attached to the wire close to the headset.

Nova: The Elegant Universe
"String Theory is already showing us that the universe may be a lot stranger than any of us ever imagined. For example, String Theory says we're surrounded by hidden dimensions, mysterious places beyond the familiar three dimensional space we know." - Brian Greene, physicist Parallel universes, wormholes through space, the possibility of passing through matter - it all sounds like imaginative science fiction! But then again, there was a time when the concept that the world was round or the notion of the existence of tiny bugs invisible to the human eye seemed just as outlandish. In fact, these seemingly far-fetched concepts arise from the very highest level of modern physics and are very widely respected. They are part of the only theory that has the ability to more completely understand the universe in which we live - by uniting the laws of large objects like stars and planets with the laws of tiny objects such as atoms. This program is highly entertaining, easy to understand, and most importantly, extremely eye-opening! It is a must-see for yoga students and anyone wanting to better understand the world in which we live. Watch the whole program at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/program.html
It's uploaded in 4-10 min. segments, so you can watch as much as fits your schedule at any given time. Or, check it out from your local library. Either way, you are sure to emerge as I did - more educated and much more open-minded! Aurora Certified Purna Yoga Teacher |
| The Nervous System |

|
Excerpt from Fire of Love:
The nervous system is our communicator with Spirit, our connection with the inner worlds, a gateway between the physical and spiritual. The nervous system is a transmitter as well as a receiver, an electrical system emitting powerful electromagnetic waves that connect and harmonize all aspects of our being.
