Dear Students and Friends, 
The Yoga we do brings us a sense of stability and groundedness at all times. However, in turbulent times like these the practice of Purna Yoga is not merely important, it is undoubtedly necessary. Please continue doing the meditation snacks to maintain your connection with your spirit, the asana and pranayama to keep your body strong and calm, eat healthy organic food and Sunrider, and get enough sleep that you wake up fresh and alert. Evolution
Mirra and I just taught at the Omega Conference in New York where I delivered the keynote address on Sri Aurobindo's Yoga and the Evolution of Consciousness. We realized from the response how important the yoga of self transformation is. The practice of asana only prepares the body to receive the Light by opening up the nadis (energy channels) and strengthening the nerves. When you practice, remember that you are preparing your body for evolution. -Aadil |

Being Grounded
When you are sitting for meditation, be very conscious that you are grounded. Use the exhalations to deepen the roots from your sitting bones down into the earth. The feeling of being grounded develops calmness and inner stability.

Right and Wrong
 As Sri Aurobindo explained, it is practically impossible to progress on the path of yoga when you believe that you alone are right. Similarly, the Mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram wrote, "One of the chief obstacles to the establishment of a progressive harmony is our eagerness to prove to an opponent that he is wrong and we are right." Therefore it is such a joy to feel the peace that overcomes me when I allow myself to believe that someone who's view point is opposite to my own may be as much on the path as I am.

| Fullfillment
 As we travel and eat all sorts of wondrous food at some of the finest restaurants, we realize how food entertains our palate and fills our stomach. Yet the joy of feeling truly fed only comes when we drink our basic Sunrider drink. In fact I have often said after a full dinner, "I'm completely full, but I don't feel satisfied!" Then I go home, drink a glass of warm water with a scoop of NuPlus, a Quinary, and a squirt of Sunectar and finally feel satisfied from being nourished again. -Mirra |

| Renew Your Self, Renew Your Teaching
It can be difficult to continue to give as a teacher unless you are also giving to yourself. I hope you will look deeply at the College of Purna Yoga 500-hour Level Teacher Training, and give yourself the opportunity to refresh your Spirit, deepen your knowledge, and re-inspire your teaching. This course begins on January 18, with a 2-week intensive. Two more intensives follow, in May and September, offering 270 hours of the finest yoga teacher training available. I am putting all of my focus and experience -- gathered from over 30 years of teaching teachers -- into this program. If you have already completed the foundational teacher training provided in a 200-hour course, I hope you will join us and take your teaching to the next level.
