Dear students and friends on the path of yoga,
This month, as our nation's financial woes build, we are doubly grateful for the support we feel from our work in Purna Yoga™. Not only does coming to class release the stresses of our lives, but it makes us a more cohesive community. Of course, the financial aspect of Purna Yoga through the vehicle of Sunrider™ helps us bring more wealth to the planet while continuing to serve others. Yes, we have a lot to be grateful for.
In the joy of prosperity, and the prosperity of joy,

Sacred Setu Bandha Sarvangasana
One of the most important asanas is Setu Bandha Sarvangasana. It is considered a sacred pose because it helps the body in so many different ways. The energy of the hands is directed into the kidneys, thereby enhancing the life force in the body. This pose opens the lungs, ribs, and diaphragm, thereby enhancing respiration. It frees the tension in the abdomen, thereby enhancing digestion. Additionally, it stimulates the thymus, enhancing immunity. It draws the spine into the body, reversing aging. What a pose!

Progress and Clarity
Progress is impossible without clarity. Until we are absolutely clear about where we are and where we want to go, we live in a fog that prevents our growth. The clearer I become, the more surety I will attain.

Respect, from Fire of Love
Respect is care. Respect means caring for ourselves, for others, for things, and for our planet. Therefore, to develop our capacity to give and receive respect, our central practice must be to vigilantly observe ourselves as we speak and act, and ask ourselves whether our words and actions are being respectful to our own self, to other people, to material objects, and to the earth that is our home.

Berries
Much research points to the importance of deep-colored vegetables and fruit in the diet. Berries, for example, help keep the arteries clean, reduce macular degeneration, and strengthen the capillaries. We suggest eating them whenever they are in season, daily.
