Support the Button Project
Thanks to Past Presidents Michael and Norma Orovitz, the students of our Religious School and Early Childhood Center are joining the children of the Wellington, New Zealand, JCC's Moriah College, to send the message of "Lest We Forget" and "Never Again." They are collecting one button for every child who was a victim of the Holocaust. This enormous task is designed to help students understand the scale of the Holocaust in an attempt to memorialize the 1.5 million children who perished there. Temple Israel's teens will count the buttons, and volunteers will pack and ship the buttons to our fellow Jews in New Zealand's capital city.
Please support us by sending us your spare buttons.Drop buttons of on or before May 2, at: Temple office, during week days, 8-5 PM, at the Front DeskECC, during week days, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Office. Religious School, Sundays, from 9:45 AM to 1:00 PM. For more information about this project contact Valeria Michanie at
