Top 10 Reasons to Give to the 2009 AFP Every Member Campaign

1.  Every Member Campaign provides essential support for scholarships and training.

2.  When my Chapter meets its EMC goal of $6,755, we will receive 25% back as a
Partnership Grant to support Dallas training and scholarships.

3. By participating, I am eligible for great prizes including dinners, museum memberships and other surprises.

4. Last year 19% of our membership participated, I want to help our Chapter reach 25% participation.

5.  Helping our Chapter reach its goal underscores my commitment to AFP and, especially, my AFP - Dallas.

6. We don't want Houston or Fort Worth to have a better campaign than Dallas!

7. Once I give, I won't be asked again (well, not until next year!)

8.  The AFP Board already has 100% participation
.
9.  I really want an "I GAVE" sticker on my luncheon meeting badge!

10.  The sooner I donate, the sooner the campaign will end...

Thank you for your serious consideration. We know that this year presents special challenges and we are very grateful to each of you for your support. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact 2009 EMC Chair Jim Falk at jfalk@dfwworld.org,
or any Chapter director.

PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Dear Friends,

If you didn't attend the August 26th meeting, you really missed a good one. It was fantastic to see everyone back after a busy summer - like old home week! Our major gift panel was outstanding, and the networking was exceptionally fun. There was a great spirit of enthusiasm and optimism in the room. May the last quarter of 2009 bring us all good things and lots of gifts! It is certainly bringing excellent speakers for our September and October luncheon meetings, then it's time for the National Philanthropy Day event on November 10th and our annual Holiday Luncheon on December 9th, featuring guest speaker Nancy Barry.

Please, nominate either yourself or someone you know (with their consent, of course) to serve on the Greater Dallas Chapter's board of directors. The nominating committee is busily reviewing candidates so we may present you with an outstanding slate for the 50th Anniversary Year of AFP. Also, don't forget to send your gift to the Every Member Campaign! A healthy increase in participation might also win us a $2,500 chapter prize at the AFP International Conference. There's still time to register for the AFP First Course sessions, September 24-25 at Dallas Baptist University. And remember the scholarship opportunities that we offer, including the Chamberlain Scholarship for first-time attendees to the AFP International Conference.

There, all my "nag notes" are done, phew! Now I can relax and tell you all what a wonderfully fulfilling and fun year I have been having as your president. Thank you for this opportunity to work with so many of you and to participate in the growth and excellence of our chapter. I love hearing from people who want to volunteer for one of our committees, greeting all the guests and new members at the meetings, and working with such professional and invested board members. Thank you!

With all best wishes,

Luanne Samuel, CFRE
President
