LOVE Maplewood Project Update
On Monday, August 11, a group of volunteers representing various churches and organizations gathered at Maplewood High School to greet the students on their first day back to school. Many high fives were exchanged, encouraging words were spoken, and the volunteers were able to pray for principal Dr. Julie Williams as the school kicks off this new academic year. This is just the beginning of this year's LOVE Maplewood Project activities! Read on...
An Open House is being planned for Monday, September 8th, from 6-8pm at Maplewood High School. All teachers, students, administrators, parents and community members are invited to join in the festivities. There will be food, door prizes, live music, and several opportunities to serve as we come together for Maplewood. Resource booths representing various organizations and volunteer efforts, including the LOVE Maplewood Project, will provide much needed information to parents and students, informing them of what is available to help them succeed.
Volunteers are needed to help greet the students and parents, work the booths, and help with general set up. This will be an historic moment for Maplewood and the community, and we invite you to be part of it! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at 352-1805 for details.

3rd Annual Golf Challenge a Great Success!
They always say, "third times a charm!" In the case of this year's 3rd Annual Golf Challenge, that statement certainly rings true. 60 golfers represented Operation Andrew on the beautiful King's Creek Golf Course this year, and had a wonderful time playing while also spreading the word about the mission and ministries of Operation Andrew. The golfers enjoyed delectable meals from Panera Bread and Rooster's Texas Barbecue, while taking home some wonderful prizes. And the drumroll please...
Our golfers were able to raise $73,000, and counting! We are so grateful to each of our golfers, captains and committee members for making this year's tournament our best yet! And we ultimately give thanks to the Lord, for His wonderful provision!

2008 Honor Banquet- An Extraordinary Evening
On Monday, September 29th, Operation Andrew will host it's 8th Annual Honor Banquet for Clergy and Spouses at the Family of God at Woodmont Hills Church. The theme for this year's event will be "Unity in the Field", and we will be joined again by the hilarious husband and wife duo, Peculiar People. This year's "Pastor of the Year" will also be inducted into the Nashville and Middle Tennessee Hall of Faith. As in the past, fabulous door prizes will be given away. We invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of fellowship, food, laughter, and honoring and esteeming each of you for your service to the church and the community.

Second Prayer Summit Scheduled for October
On October 30-31, Nashville and Middle Tennessee church leaders are invited to gather once again for a powerful time of prayer and fellowship at the Church at Grace Park in White House. The last prayer summit, held in March, was attended by over 30 leaders, and proved to be a very fruitful time of breakthrough and reconciliation for all involved. As church and marketplace leaders are praying with each other regularly throughout the city, we see the prayer summit as a "bonfire" of prayer that will serve to ignite the church in Nashville, bringing about greater unity and transformation within our city. Invitations will also be sent out via mail- if you are interested in attending and would like more information, please call 352-1805 or visit our website at www.operationandrew.org.
