June 09

Scott McGregor - Adult
Scott is a 47 year old resident of Highland Mills, New York. He has two children, Brandon (10) and Samantha (12), who also work out with us here at Velocity. Scott's been with Velocity for about one and a half years and is ecstatic to complete each workout. He says that the Velocity workout has improved his endurance, which is necessary for keeping up with his two kids. In addition, Scott carries over his strong work ethic into his business, where he is a CFO of an insurance company. Scott majored in Accounting at SUNY Geneseo. Following undergrad, he then received his MBA from West Virginia and his Doctorate from Pace University; both in finance. His persistence and success in and out of Velocity has definitely earned him June's Adult Athlete of the Month.
Patrick White - Youth
Patrick is 10 years old and lives in Monroe, New York. He attends North Main Elementary where he is a straight A student. His favorite subject is history and he is involved with Odyssey of the Mind, which is a creative group in school that focuses on problem solving. In addition, Patrick plays three sports, which include hockey, baseball, and football. His favorite sport is football, where is plays on the line. Patrick's proudest moment in football was when he lost 32 pounds in order to play on the team. This is an astounding achievement that required a lot of hard work and determination. When it comes to Velocity, there's nothing Patrick doesn't like. He started working out with us in January and has already noticed improvements in his speed. He said that working out at Velocity has allowed him to become an overall better athlete. Patrick's determination and assiduous attitude cannot go overlooked, which is why he is our June Youth Athlete of the Month.
Kelsey Davis - D1
Kelsey is a 12 year old native of Washingtonville, NY. She currently attends Washingtonville Middle School where she maintains impressive grades on the honor roll. When she grows up, Kelsey aspires to be a writer. Right now, Kelsey is an avid soccer player. It is her favorite sport and she contributes to the team by playing striker. Her proudest moment during soccer was when she made a header goal to win the game. Kelsey has been working out at Velocity since February and in those 4 months she has seen big improvements in her strength. She now feels that she has the ability and confidence to take on taller girls on the field and stand her ground. Kelsey's hard work, positive attitude and drive for success are what earned her June's D1 Athlete of the Month.
Christie Crawford - D2 Christie is an 18 year old senior at Ramsey High School. She is currently 8th in her class and her favorite subject is Government. Christie plays center defense on her soccer team. When not playing soccer or studying, she likes to be active outdoors and sometimes sit down with a book. Her favorite author right now is Janet Evanovich. She plans on going to Hamilton College in upstate NY to study Government or History and later might practice Law. Christie has been working out with Velocity since January 09. She likes the small hurdle drills which help her foot speed. She believes Velocity training has helped her become quicker and have better change of direction. Her teammate Brielle Heitman often yells to her on the field, "nice butt kick" or "great acceleration". Christie always shows up to class with a smile on her face and works really hard in class every time which are some reasons she has earned the title of Velocity Sports Performance June Developmental 2 Athlete of the Month.
