Legendary E-Street Band drummer MAX WEINBERG's dream to create his own swinging 15-piece Big Band is a reality. Debuting Christmas week of December 2009 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, this hard driving unit was an instant hit. Drawing from a repertoire that includes tried and true, yet updated, 1960's-era Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson-even a new swinging take on The Beatles and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - THE MAX WEINBERG BIG BAND will swing the audience into a frenzy. This is a group that upholds the grand show business maxim, if you will: "LOOK SHARP-PLAY SHARP."

The Fab Faux
Annual Summer Benefit Concert Event
 Saturday, June 26, 2010 - 8PM
Presented by: Count Basie Theatre Foundation Tickets: $500, $150, $120, $100, $50, $35
VIDEO PREVIEW
An annual and always sold-out Basie tradition, The Fab Faux are, according to Rolling Stone Magazine, "The greatest Beatles cover band." Featuring Will Lee from The Late Show with David Letterman; Jimmy Vivino from the Max Weinberg 7 on Late Night with Conan O'Brien; record producer Rich Pagano; Frank Agnello (Marshall Crenshaw, Phoebe Snow); and Jack Petruzzelli (Joan Osborne, Rufus Wainwright), this is the band to see if you want to know what it might have been like if The Beatles toured behind their later albums, with a healthy portion of the early guitar-based material as well.

LET'S FACE IT Count Basie Theatre Facade Restoration
In 2010, The Count Basie Theatre will once again undergo a major renovation, this time to the exterior of the building, and is launching the "Let's Face It" campaign to fund the work. Although scaffolding will cover the front of the building, the shows will go on. An all-new, historical looking façade will replace the faded and structurally impaired pink brick front. A refurbished theatre marquee with energy efficient lighting, and new energy efficient windows will be included in the project.
