 | WIFT HAS AN OFFICE! |
| |
Home Sweet Home: WIFT Has Moved!
In June, WIFT completed the move from its storage facility where we've been for two years, to a suite of offices conveniently located just off Richmond Avenue at West Loop South - the Galleria area "inside" the loop." The street address is 4848 Guiton, Ste. 110, Houston 77027. The building, built in 1955, is a 2-story white brick office building, and old though it is, will suit our needs very well. It's useful for board meetings, classes, and member or vendor meetings. With us in the building you'll find a hair salon, Nuvo Too by Pegi; a massage therapist, an animation/motion graphics company, a quilt-maker; Comsult Systems, a signage/corporate identity company, and many other artists, including Pat Skiles' sister. If you have a colleague who isn't yet a member of WIFT that you would like to bring by to meet with one of the board members, and check out our offices, just be sure to call the WIFT Hotline at 713-788-8075 to set up an appointment. Kathlyn Fowler will contact you and a meeting date and time will be arranged. Member Mike Muscal, who joined WIFT Houston in January after decades in Los Angeles, had this to say about our new offices. "This is great! I've been in hundreds of production offices in L.A., and they all look like this." BTW, before returning to Houston, Mike produced (more recently) the serial killer trilogy: ED GEIN (2000), TED BUNDY (2002), and THE HILLSIDE STRANGLER (2004); and he was Visual Effects Supervisor on JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS (2001) and BRIDE OF CHUCKY (1998). He started off his career in film with Stuart Gordon's gloriously, unapologetically bloody sci-fi classic RE-ANIMATOR (1985), which celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year. Mike was Production Manager of that campily thrilling splatter film. We'll have to do more on Mike in a later issue. For now, we'll just say he's back in Houston to help us grow our industry, and he's easily accessible to the serious filmmaker. Need Audtion Space, or want to do a table read? WIFT's conference room is perfect. Again, call our Hotline at 713-788-8075. Kathlyn will arrange to have someone call you with details on renting WIFT's board room. TO OUR MEMBER ACTORS: We have purchased two screens (room dividers) that will hold headshots of the first 30 actors to send in their vertical 8x10 headshot. Nearly one-third of our members are actors. It's a great way to display those headshots. You never know who will visit the WIFT office next. We have 15 members already taking advantage of this opportunity who brought their headshots to the Cultured Cocktail event at Boheme. They look terrific in our main office. If you let your membership drop past the renewal date, your headshot will be replaced by the next member actor on the waiting list.
*The WIFT Board of Directors would like to thank President Jolene McMaster for almost single-handedly handling this move. Her hard work is appreciated by all!

Bonus Opportunity for Houston Filmmakers: Ms. Levison is making available a limited number of half-hour slots for one-on-one consultations with those seeking expert advice about their individual projects and business plans.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Want to simply make movies or be in the film business? If you are serious about asking investors for money to finance your filmmaking endeavors, show them that you have not only a story that will appeal to audiences, but a solid business plan for managing the life cycle of your project(s).
If you want to cash in on the potential of the $8 billion independent film market, be part of this special seminar given by Louise Levison, creator of the business plan for the wildly successful low-budget film, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. In this 2-1/2 hour class, Levison will take the mystique out of film financing and writing a winning business plan. From the executive summary to the financial projections, you will learn how to research, organize, and present your case to investors.
Topics include:
Filmmakers as entrepreneurs
Clarifying objectives and responsibilities
What investors look for in a business plan
Knowing what to include and not include
Honing in on market segments and marketing
Distribution channels and distributor strategies
Developing assumptions and projections
About Louise Levison: Louise is President of Business Strategies ( www.moviemoney.com), a consulting firm in Sherman Oaks, CA, specializing in business plans packaging, and venture capital financing. She wrote the business plan for the wildly successful low budget film, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. Ms. Levison is an instructor in the Extension Program at UCLA and has been a Visiting Professor at the Taipei (Taiwan) National University of the Arts, the University of Montana (Missoula), and Chapman University, and conducted workshops at film festivals around the U.S. and overseas. She is editor/publisher of "The Film Entrepreneur: A Newsletter for the Independent Film Investor." She is author of the best book on business plans, "Filmmakers & Financing: Business Plans for Independents," published by Focal Press, now in its Sixth Edition. The Houston filmmaking community met Ms. Levison in 2002 for TALA's Texas Filmmaking Institute, co-chaired by Jolene McMaster and attorney Jamie Baker. Jolene added, "Louise was simply incredible, and the hour allotted for her presentation was not nearly enough for her newly found devotees."
Louise will also participate in SWAMP and TALA's 6th Annual Business of Film Conference on Saturday, September 11, at Rice Media Center, from 9AM to 5PM. Her segment will be on "Pitching your Film." Register at www.swamp.org/bizoffilm.html. This information-packed conference features panels and discussions with professionals from the film, legal, and financial worlds addressing a wide range of topics, including budgeting for film, funding resources, music rights, distribution, and much more. Trish was hired in April as the new Executive Director of HCAS, and Maureen began on August 3, as Operations Manager for the 2010 festival. Congratulations, ladies. We wish you the very best, as you put in those long hours that will result in another exciting festival which is sure to surpass event the fine offerings presented last year. A Conversation with Maureen Herzog and

We'd like to thank them and everyone who attended the evening at Champion Entertainment Studios! Thanks also go to Bob Willems who
provided the perfect venue. Indie Slate, like WIFT Houston celebrates 15 years of service to our industry this year. If you couldn't make this one, don't worry the A, B, C's of Film and Television is an ongoing series. Stay tuned for the full schedule! |
Ask The Agents, Managers, and Casting Directors
Page Parkes-Eveleth Photo by Chelsea Aldrich | Huge thanks to WIFT Board member Page Parkes-Eveleth, and to Michele Sanchez, Tabitha Garcia, and Aliana Acosta (promotions), and all Page Parkes staff, who were on top of this event.
Our new and improved annual ASK THE AGENTS master class was a success. The event came together quickly and beautifully - except for the weather, which caused several from Dallas from making the trip. We know a few coming from all parts of Houston got rained out as well. The hour's time spent was perfect. Look for this Page Park Talent sponsored event again in May 2011. The panelists were each at the top of their game, providing the real scoop on their life in Hollywood, and they were willing to share. It's a must for the serious actor and parents of children who are seriously considering acting as a career. Member Chelsea Aldrich was our event photographer. Thank you, Chelsea. This was a "perfect" kind of event for WIFT as Page Parkes Talent, sponsor/host of the event, provided travel and lodging for the out-of-town panelists, and the venue for the event as well, with all profits for the event going to WIFT. Again, our thanks to Page Parkes and everyone in attendance, including new members who in spite of the bad weather came and joined WIFT that evening. These funds helped greatly to prepare our new "Inside the Loop" office space for the June move-in. After more than a year of some fine conversations over breakfast, we're going to try something new. Our final Breakfast Rap was in January hosted by board member Patricia Torres-Burd at Cafe Express on the Beltway near Katy Freeway. Among those enjoying the great conversations and appetizing breakfast choices were Marc Isaacs, Ben Johnson, Trish Rigdon, Fabrizia Faustinella, Joel Irwin, Jolene McMaster, and new member Kelly Burns Smith. The conversation lasted well past 11:30 AM as everyone shared ideas and tips and met new friends. Look for information on how we will be spotlighting our new members and giving our current members an opportunity to meet them.

100-Mile Short Script Competition Extended
There's a cash prize of $500, plus the opportunity to see your story produced locally by WIFT Members and Industry Professionals! In the next few weeks, WIFT Houston expects to close-out its search for a great short script - one that can then be digitally produced for a budget not to exceed $10,000. We're placing an emphasis on strong storytelling and the ability to shoot the script locally (within the stated budget). WIFT Houston and Irony Coast Productions will then begin plans to produce the best live-action narrative script that is judged to be the Winner by local industry professionals.
This competition is for dues-paying members of WIFT Houston. IF YOU are 18 years of age or older and not now a member of WIFT Houston, you can join and compete with other WIFT member writers. There are millions of stories to be told by people who live in and around Houston and these stories should have an opportunity to be told, maybe by you, and made right here in Texas by professional filmmakers from the greater Houston area. IF YOU want to participate or know someone who should, email wifth@yahoo.com for the rules and the Submission Form & Release, and if you are not a dues-paying member you will be sent a membership application also. WIFT Members Meet Actor Billy Bob Thornton!
WIFT-Houston ended 2009 with a WIFT Gone Wild! celebration at Fitzgerald's in the Heights with special guest actor Billy Bob Thornton. We gained several new members, networked, chatted with friends old and new, noshed on a buffet from Molina's Cantina (Thank you Molina's and Sabrina!) and enjoyed the vocal stylings of The Boxmasters with Billy Bob Thornton. We hope you didn't miss it! But in case you did, here are some snapshots of the festivities taken by several WIFT members including: Kay Salem, Chelsea Aldrich, and Ann Marie Giaquinto. We're grateful to you three - without you we might not have had proof this ever happened.
N.B. - Billy Bob graciously autographed a SLING BLADE poster donated by Bob DePietro of www.cinemaimages.com. It will be auctioned off at our next Silent Auction. Watch for details! (If you'd like to help in the planning of special events, please send an email to wifth@yahoo.com.)

We didn't know it at the time, but this was to be our last opportunity to celebrate the holidays at Fitzgerald's, the live music venue on White Oak. Sara Fitzgerald has since sold the business she opened in 1977. This was most certainly a holiday party WIFT members and guests will long remember, with the Bad Santa himself. Thanks, Mz. Fitz! Spacetaker's Cultured Cocktails a big hit in July! So many of you got behind the Cultured Cocktails - thank you! It's impossible to put a number to the headcount, but it certainly seemed that we must have reached the 100 mark if not higher. Locke Bryan Productions was there in great numbers, including Camille and Locke, Patricia Torres-Burd, and Nicole Fellers; good representation from Page Parkes Talent (Page and Tabitha), Diana Reddish was there from Pastorini-Bosby Talent, The Editing Company's Nancy Clinton, A+ Talent's Pat Skiles, and Zenfilm's Merideth Melville had to work late, but finally made it and regretted not seeing most of you. It was great seeing so many others, as well, both members, former board members, and friends of WIFT. Trish's husband, Kevin Rigdon, took time from his busy schedule at the Alley to join us for awhile. Jake Messinger and Amy Mitchell were there; Melannie O'Connor got away from studying for her GMAT exam for awhile (which she passed, BTW), and Carole Keeney-Harrington was able to join us. Alfred Cervantes, Houston Film Commission; Tracy Stephenson and Ray Gomez from MFAH Film Department; Mary Lampe and Michelle Mower from SWAMP, Ann DeGuire, Panavision-Plus8digital - who volunteered that she was going to join WIFT and recruit others as well); Larry McKee, Scott Szabo, and David Norton came; Henry Kana and his wife were in town briefly from NM; and Connie Hill (Houston PBS) renewed her membership. Rosalind Young became a member, joining husband Gary Watson, a long-time supporter of WIFT, as did Annie Cole, whom both Bea Rouse and Yankie Grant had recruited. It was great to see Rick Lowe, Founder of Project Row Houses there, along with so many of our regulars, Melrose Fougere, Wanda Amos, Josephine John, Ginette Mailloux, Lorie Kapila, Gary Watson, Eleese Lester, Joel Irwin, Tahl Rozycki a/k/a Dracula, Jennifer Joseph, Larry Young, Ben Johnson, Fabrizia Faustinella, AnnMarie Giaquinto, Margo-Ellen, and many more were there.
Special thanks to Page Parkes for suggesting the event to the Spacetaker organization Executive Director Jenni Rebecca Stephenson, and to Maureen Herzog and Dave Walker, Trish Rigdon, Bea Rouse for helping to keep things moving, and finally, to Melrose Fougere for helping us to finally get WIFT's birthday cake cut. This event kicked off WIFT's birthday celebration - 15 years in Houston. The music for the evening was provided by member Rob McKinnon (not a live performance), but his CD "Mood Swings" played throughout the evening featuring a little jazz, a bit of blues, plus other mood music, all adding to the lively atmosphere throughout the five-hour fundraiser. Boheme was a great venue, and we'd love to make an annual event out of this. Maureen Herzog summed it up, "...the spirit of camaraderie was palpable. It was cool to see so many longtime industry folks we hadn't seen in a while, as well as meet some new ones. Let's do it again soon!" Thank you Jennifer Joseph for these photos that captured the moment. Member actors send in your headshots - first-come, first served. On display at WIFT office. |

Barbara Mackey and Dawn Ireland collaborated on a screenplay that is winning recognition at various industry competitions.

'Tail' of West U dog resonates with film audiences
By Cynthia Lescalleet (West University Examiner)
The karma wheel is still spinning for Barbara Mackey and Dawn Ireland. Colleagues and collaborators, they're floating a screenplay based on "Memoirs of a Dog," a book Mackey's late pet CousCous "authored."
Early response and feedback seems promising, the women said, as the screenplay recently earned recognition at two industry competitions. They're already brainstorming possible sequels.
Gut-wrenching and heart-warming, the story is told from the perspective of an abused, abandoned and adopted dog. Its themes of loyalty, courage and the power of loving relationships ring true for humans as well as their pets, said Mackey. A retired psychotherapist who lives in West University, she believes animals have feelings, thoughts and needs -plus all that unconditional love.
Her 2002 book was based on what she had observed of her canine companion CousCous, a rescued mixed breed dog of indomitable spirit despite a traumatized past. Her pet often tagged along with Mackey to her therapy sessions and coaxed healing responses from her clients. A beloved pet, CousCost died earlier this year, though she continues to inspire her owner. And the winner is: Having entered their screenplay in film competitions earlier this summer, the women are two-for-20 in recognition and awaiting further feedback.
This first collaboration by the duo has won First Runner Up in the Family Film Category at the Woods Hole Film Festival and an honorable mention at the Underground Exposure Film Festival and Screenplay competition.
"It's a good sign to place in a festival," Ireland said. "To be a runner up is incredible."
Their ultimate goal, however, is to sell the screenplay, get it produced and "be on the red carpet."
The pair knows their dream is a long shot. Among the strikes against them: They're women. In their 60s. Writing about animals so there are technical or animation consideration. They're from Houston, rather than L.A. or New York or somewhere better tethered to the industry. And it's their first collaborative effort.
"It's the longest shot in the world," Mackey said. "Why not try it?"
In a light moment, Ireland quoted comedian Steve Mazan: "If you stop chasing your dream, you're already dead."
Mackey said the validation of recognition from the competitions they've entered is motivation to keep at it.
As they await their screenplay's fate, the pair is prepping additional story lines from CousCous' perspective, ones dealing with such issues as capital punishment and dementia.
First, though, Mackey is working on completing by the end of the year the next book in what is shaping up as a series. In "We Called Her Carla Faye," a neighborhood (both human and animal) is in a tizzy over a pack of renegade dogs killing small animals.
Ireland, meanwhile, is an experienced screenwriter and author who is a technical writer with publishing experience and a string of awards, credits, screenplays and novels.
She was a consultant on Mackey's first book project early on and the women became friends given their common interests in creative writing and animal welfare.
An early draft of the screenplay dates back to the book's completion, however, Mackey faced many years of caring for ailing family members, which shifted her focus until a year ago.
It has been a decade of saying goodbye to loved ones, she said.
In the interim, however, film technology has improved with respect to allowing animals to be the focus of a story, Ireland noted. Also, animal films are no longer just the domain of children.
Similarly, culture has shifted from pet ownership to pets as children, a trend that expands the film's resonance, Ireland said.
The poignant story has real potential, Ireland said.
"The karma wheel will decide," Mackey said. For more information: Dawn Ireland www.dawnireland-writer.com
Congrats to WIFT's 2009 Gulf Coast Film Fest Winners
Past WIFT-Houston President Cynthia Neely won Best Script at the 2009 Gulf Coast Film Festival for her script "Super Luke", and Corporate Member Shawn Welling won Best Documentary for "The Messenger." Congratulations to both!
Divorce Texas Style ~contributed by the Writer/Producer Team~

Melody Moss and Yankie Grant of Rusty Yankie Productions (WIFT-H founding members) co-produced and collaborated with Melrose Fougere to make WorldFest Houston's silver REMI award winning short, Divorce Texas Style directed by Jonathan Fausset; Director of Photography by Larry McKee. Many of the cast and crew are WIFT-H members, e.g. Robin Craig, Amy Mitchell, Jake Messinger, Larry Young, Fabrizia Faustinella, Bea Rouse, Rona Lamont, Lori Kapila, Ginette Mailloux, and Heather Leigh Jackson, amongst many others. Everyone on the set of this dark comedy was awesome and so dedicated it was an honor to work with them. The intrigue begins with four women being followed by two detectives (Chuck Houston and Jake Messinger) hot on their trail as they attend the funeral of Curtis Evans (Gary Chason), a theatrical producer. As you follow Joanne Evans (Robin Craig), Belle Stewart (Amy Mitchell), Stella Douglas (Yankie Grant) and Victoria James (Melody Moss) you will find that they share more than lies and Bordeaux while celebrating Divorce Texas Style. Yankie, Melody and Melrose are collaborating on the script for the feature, which is close to being finalized. If anyone would like to see the 16.40 minute short, go to www.rustyyankieproductions.com and follow the vimeo link. Divorce Texas Style is a finalist in the 2010 Gulf Coast Film & Video Festival; winners to be announced at the awards dinner on Saturday, September 18th.

WIFT Corporate Member, Zenfilm!
The Children's Museum of Houston, KPRC and Zenfilm received a 2009 Lone Star Emmy for the Grand Reopening TV campaign created for the expanded Children's Museum of Houston. The TV campaign features kids, in their own words, describing one of the most unique educational attractions in the world. More than 50 children were interviewed on camera and then their best moments, and truly unique perspectives were edited together to form the narrative core of the spots. The storyline is enhanced with exciting cinematography of the dynamic new exhibits. Honest, interesting, and funny, the spots capture kids' true impressions of this incredible facility.
Zenfilm and KPRC worked together to create the spots as well as unique editoral segments starring KPRC anchors that showcased the expanded facilities in the days leading up to the grand re-opening of the museum. KPRC's special news focus created an incredible buzz surrounding the museum's expansion.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this successful campaign, including Ross Wells, Director/Editor, and WIFT Member Tracy Jemison, Colorist, and of course Zenfilm Executive Producer, and former WIFT President Merideth Melville.

The Lioness Club -from member Chelsea Aldrich
I will be directing a short film this fall that I have written titled, THE LIONESS CLUB: "When our justice system fails, these mothers 'take out' the trash." It's a 25 minute film that uses dark humor to address the social plague of child sexual abuse. This is a problem that I've had the privilege of watching my parent's fight against all my life. Dad was an investigator in the Juvenile Division of Houston Police Department and then an investigator for Houston Independent School District. Mom is a survivor of child sexual abuse who has openly and passionately addressed this issue and advocated for the rights of young victims.
My film, THE LIONESS CLUB is already in the works. I have a completed script, cast my principal actors and, to date, have secured $30,000 of in-kind services and raised $1,500 of my $15,000 cash budget. Currently, I am awaiting news about a grant that I applied for from the Texas Filmmakers Production Fund.
I've committed myself whole-heartedly to this film. I will be in Los Angeles for the month of July raising funds and promoting "THE LIONESS CLUB". Shooting begins on September 16th, 2010. My team and I will be making the Film Festival circuit with our finished project in January of 2011.
I'm inviting you to support me in making this film come to life by becoming a contributor. All contributions of $25 or more will be credited in the film.

Jim Huston... in our thoughts, and missed
Thursday, January 28, 2010, was the date we lost a good friend - a fine actor, teacher, writer, and advocate for what he believed in. A long illness kept him out of the limelight for most of 2009, but we all expected to see him back. His last WIFT event was the Holiday Party and Silent Auction held at The Tasting Room Uptown Park in December 2009. Jim was the kind of person who believed in offering his talents not only to entertain, but to make this a better place for others who shared his passion for creative expression to live, whether their interest be film, television, or theatre, or as in Jim's case, all of the above. He believed you could live in Houston and have the career you desired. He loved living, working, and teaching in Houston. Jim joined WIFT Houston in 2002, and he and his wife Tina remained steadfast members of WIFT until Jim's death. He was always there if you needed him. When WIFT organized Houston Film Coalition, he was there. We all knew incentives were needed in Texas, yet the legislative effort had failed to fund that year. It was time to pull Houston's production industry people together. We wanted to establish a plan to keep that momentum going. We weren't alone. The same efforts were at work throughout the state. TXMPA was soon formed. Jim was willing to run for a directors' position with TXMPA if he was needed, even though he had his teaching responsibilities, and was President of SAG's Houston branch (2004-2009), and of course was still pursuing acting and writing. It was also during th is period that he created the Script To Screen program. It was this program that gradually developed into the Acting for Film program at Rice University. where he lectured from 2006-2008. In his years as an actor he played supporting roles in films such as LIFE OF DAVID GALE, RAY, POWDER, and THE BOSTONIAN. He played leading roles in ABOUT LAUGHTER (1998 Sundance Film Festival), and THE LAMP (aka OUTING). His television credits included "The President's Man" (CBS), "Walker, Texas Ranger" (CBS), "Nash Bridges" (CBS), " Unsolved Mysteries" (CBS). and "Spencer for Hire" (ABC). His stage credits included "Year of the Duck," and "Moonchildren," both off-Broadway, as well as regional plays, "Gypsy," "Cuckoo's Nest," "All My Sons," "Loss of Interest," "Any Old Passion," and "God's Man in Texas," just to name a few. Jim was also a member of the Houston Stage Actor's Guild, AFTRA national board, and Actors Equity (25 years). His actions spoke louder than his words. Jim will be remembered by many as an artist, a mentor, a friend and colleague. Jim gave much of himself to improving and expanding our industry. We must all do our part to carry on his mission and his dream for what Houston is and can still become.

Dear WIFT Members & Colleagues,
If you've gotten this far in this our biggest e-newsletter, congratulations, and thank you for being so loyal, and for caring about what's happening in your industry, and in particular, within our organization. Maireem said it's more like an annual report, and she's right. This is a long issue because it's been a busy year, and we haven't had the extra time to dedicate to the newsletter; but we have managed forward momentum for the good of the organization. Much of that has already been reported above, so I won't dwell on here. If you've submitted a news item and don't see it here, we will attempt to do better in the future - so many things happening, and so little time.
I am particularly proud of (1) our great board and the interest each member is taking in managing the direction and business of the organization, and their contribution of time and money; (2) the efforts and dedication of the Education Committee (Trish and Maureen), (3) the new WIFT office, and (4) I'm proud to announce that Women In Film & Television Houston has been approved for its first ever Houston Arts Alliance Arts Project Grant. It will allow us to bring in special guests for our Education Series during HAA's current grant period - July 2010 through June 2011. We will be announcing our schedule very soon so that you can plan ahead. And then there were five....

Many of us were saddened to learn of the closing of the AngelikaFilm Center. Patrons who showed up for the matinee on Sunday, August 29, found the doors closed and signage posted. This leaves Houston with only five art house/indie screens (counting the offerings at MFAH and Rice Media Center). Hopefully, Reading International, the parent company, will again return to Houston with another urban theater dedicated to art and independent film. Rob and I were first customers to arrive when the doors first opened on New Year's Day, 1997, and from that day forward we maintained a close working relationship with management and staff throughout their first 10-years of operation. WIFT Houston's relationship with the Angelika developed as a result of this early association, and we've enjoyed many fine promotional screenings as a result.
The early years were the best; the theater seemed to struggle to maintain its impressive beginnings. Jazz was the music of choice in the early days and added class to an already stylish movie house environment. The same music was carried though into each theater providing soft but engaging ambience as you awaited the start of the previews and screening. The theater's original manager was no longer there; then the café closed, never to reopen. There were other irritating problems, including the lack of A/C; and many having to do with the fact the union projectionists are a thing of the past in Houston (except for the Museum of Fine Arts, Brown Auditorium). Overall however, it was still a good movie-going experience, though it had lost some of its charm. The closing seemed eminent when months, then years went by following the expiration of the 10-year lease in 2007, with no renewal, operating on a month-to-month basis which finally ended Sunday.
For the cineaste, the theater's highest attribute, never compromised, was its continued ability to offer the best movies week after week. Never a week went by where there wasn't something you wanted to see. The Angelika patrons, like the patrons of the Museum of Fine Arts, Brown Auditorium, knew how to watch a movie. We will miss the Angelika. We can hope that Marian Luntz, MFAH Curator of Film & Video, will be successful working with distributors and adjusting her already crowded film schedule to accommodate some of the art house/indie fare that we would otherwise not see in Houston on opening weekend. (See http://blogs.chron.com/smartfilm.) And, we can hope to see the Angelika return to Houston again soon. Until next time... Use your imagination, be creative, attempt excellence. If at first you don't succeed, don't give up; try, and try again. Then have patience.
Best,
Jolene McMaster,
President (2008-2011)
