Guaranteed Ride Home Program UpdateCabs2
To improve the efficiency, quality and fairness of our Guaranteed Ride Home program, registered participants now receive up to four free rides a yar instead of six.

Guaranteed Ride Home provides a free ride to employees of our member companies who do not drive alone to work via taxi in case of last-minute, unexpected situations while at work, in which the individual has no other options to get home or back to their car. In keeping with the spirit of the program, participants should utilize their ride only when they would otherwise be stuck during personal illness, emergency or unexpected situation.

Participants are encouraged to read the "How it Works" and "Frequently Asked Questions" sections of our website. If you cannot find your voucher and need a replacement, click here.

MBTA Monthly Parking Pass Makes Winter Parking Easier
Parking Lot 3

Winter weather can make parking difficult. A monthly parking pass can help. Save $10 a month off daily parking rates. No more scratching at the pavement trying to find a space number under snow and ice. No worries about getting a ticket for not paying for the right space. No more sliding coins and tightly folded dollars through slim payment slots. Register online, print the permit and place it in your dashboard every time you park. To register, click here.

MBTA Fare Increase Proposals

MBTA Logo
MassDOT recently announced proposed fare increases and service reductions, aimed at closing the MBTA's projected $161 million budget gap for Fiscal Year 2013. Two scenarios were proposed, each offering a choice between a greater reliance on fare increases or a greater reliance on service reductions for reaching that objective.

The Seaport TMA encourages commuters to read the MBTA's Impact Analysis, which details the proposed fare increases and service reductions/eliminations. Of interest to our members are the following sections of the analysis:

-- Proposed Service Reductions and Eliminations (PDF pgs. 21 - 25; document pgs: 6 - 10)

-- Summary of Service Reductions and Eliminations (PDF pg. 26; Document pg. 11)

-- Proposed Fare Increases Table (PDF pgs. 28 - 30; Document pgs: 13 - 15)

These are proposals and nothing will be final until July. In the meantime, it is vital that commuters determine how these proposals affect their commute, attend public meetings/workshops in their local community and/or submit
comment letters to the MBTA. To learn more about the public comment process, click here.

The Seaport TMA is working to form a position on the proposals, draft and send comment letters for our members and meet with MBTA officials as appropriate. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.
