Now that we have come through, survived and contributed to the clean up from the recent floods in our area, we are back at work with heaps happening.
Upcoming KSI Events
There's upcoming events in LA, CA, USA - just waiting to confirm details. These will allow industry personel (both sport and fitness) as well as end-users to get a taste of the KSI way. As I mention elsewhere here, the difference between what we do and the direction of the US-influenced personal training/fitness industry is growing, so these shorter duration events allow participants a chance to consider their own direction.
KSI Coach Education Program
I have been educating coaches, physical preparatoin coaches, allied professionals and fitness industry personel since about 1982. During the last few years it has become evident to me the divide between the direction the US-influenced personal training/fitness industry and the sports industry is growing. Whilst I have concerns for the direction of the US-influenced personal training/fitness industry, I respect that this is what is happening.
We have made significant additions to what was already a fantastic actual sports coaching education program. Real athlete, real coaches, and original content.
These programs are scheduled to be run in most continents during 2011.
The Strength Guild
And we have put our support behind a new web site initiative called the Strength Guild. To learn why I chose to do this, read this article.
Theres some exciting stuff happening with this initiative, including an upcoming seminar in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
When you go to sign up for this membership site, put in my name as the person who sent you there.
2011 - 25 years of continual company service
2010 marked 30 years studying and coaching for myself. We conducted the 'Legacy World Tour' in 2010 to celebrate this milestone, and we have another product we will be releasing that relate to this acheivement to this achievement.
2011 in another significant year as it marks 25 years of contiual service by our company, King Sports International.
Other developments
Someone asked me if I could direct them to the links to a lot of my articles / Q & A's from over the last fifteen years. We are looking to create something that will provide this and more. Stay tuned.
Articles, Q&As and other discussions
I've put out quite a few articles lately, and had some extensive exchanges with a number of people. These can be found on our blog, Facebook page, KSI forum and the Strength Guild site.
Achievements and injuries
Pretty much what we do in training results in either achievements or injuries, sometimes both.
I've been impressed with some of the achievements that I have seen recently, including but not limited to my former academy lecturer who has taken up bodybuilding late in life!
As far as injuries, these remain constant and I work with many of you on these with empathy and a focus on fixing them. In fact much of what I write about is sharing my inisights into how we can reduce the incidence and severity, if not eliminate them completely, and I continue to do so. One person I am working with at the moment has been plagued with their unique injury for over a decade.
On this, I bumped into a former athlete client recently whom I had not seen for about fifteen years, who in his career represented his state and country. He spoke longingly and with the wisdom of hindsight how injuries were few and far between during my time caring for his teammates and himself. That was a perioed that spanned 15-25 years ago, reinforcing that my committment to injury prevention has been consistant and effective, which was rewarding to hear this noted by the athlete.
