KSI 2009 Training Camp
24 hrs left in Early Registration

The 2009 KSI Training Camp will be held between Monday 24th and Wednesday 26th August 2009 inclusively. KSI has and continues to lead the world in physical preparation and this event is no exception - it will be an experience beyond your expectation! Three days that will impact you for life.

This event is open to anyone who trains for any purpose. If you take your training seriously and you value the training approach of KSI and Ian King, this event will reward immensely.

The 2009 KSI Training Camp Early Registration closes in about 24 hrs. Here are some more insights into the camp:

* You will start each day early and finish late
* The content is balanced across five areas, ensuring a holistic approach. You will be exposed to learning experiences in - Physical, Personal, Financial, Business and Spiritual development.
* You will live each day in a lifestyle that is optimal in many ways, especially for personal growth.
* You will live each day in the company of the top KSI practitioners from around the world, and be exposed to some of KSI's specialist advisors and influences.
* You will be involved in group activities with others from various countries (US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, European etc) and at varying stages of their journey.
* One thing everyone there will have in common is their commitment to growth and their willingness to take action to achieve this.
* You will learn a lot about yourself and have an opportunity to change and grow.  This is a rare and unique experience, unlikely to be found in any other educational experience.

For the first time ever we open this event up to non-competitive athletes. So you don't need to be an athlete. You just need to be committed to developing yourself in a holistic way, and trust the process.
In addition to the education, you will rub shoulders with the full range of KSI Coaches at our 6th Annual International Get-Together.

Ian's opening it our 3 day training camp to general people instead of only coaches / athletes as it's been done for over 10 years,  something I've wanted him to do for a while. The unique thing is it's a 3 day live in program, long days, early starts and late finishes, incredibly impacting.  You will see the 'be-ing' of the BE - DO - HAVE philosophy immersed in this environment, see how we operate on a daily basis. At this event you will be exposed to the holistic teachings of KSI - physical,  personal,  business, financial and spiritual development.
--Mitchell Kochonda, King Coach

This event is only for those who are truly committed to personal growth, trust KSI and our business approach / integrity, and value the opportunity to spent intense time in the company of our top coaches and myself.

Your Say

I can't believe how much my perspective on training has changed in just these last few months!

Hello Ian - I just wanted to share something I've been meaning to say for a while. I was in a head-on collision a year ago this week, and after months of back and neck pain, the chiro and the physical therapist both said I should forget about squatting, deadlifting, or any kind of overhead pressing. I was 31 at the time, and it was not what I wanted to hear, but tying my shoes was painful, let alone any kind of loading. The stretch at your seminar in October was the first time since the accident that I felt good.

After dedicating at least three hours a week just to flexibility work, I just finished Stage 1 of the GB II program, and squatted, deadlifted, and military pressed for a month, pain free. The weights I'm lifting are nothing to brag about, but it just really brings home the point you make about being responsible for your own health. I also wanted to say 'thank you'.

I've been lifting since I was twelve years old, and training people since I was 22, and I can't believe how much my perspective on training has changed in just these last few months. It has been eye-opening, to say the least. The only regret I have is that I didn't enroll sooner. So, thanks again, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow night, and to joining you at the 2009 KSI Training Camp in August!

If I were to start with GB I, I'm concerned I'd be taking an unnecessary step back

Hi, I saw on the FAQs on KingSports.net that one of the things you recommend to someone who's finished BOM is to try the Get Buffed books.

Just a little background about myself, I've been lifting more or less consistently for 12 years.  The past three years, I've followed the BOM workouts.  I've started with the beginner program, did the intermediate program twice, and in about 6 to 8 weeks, I'm going to finish the Advanced program in BOM for the second time.

Based on reviewing the contents of the GB books, it looks to me as though I'd be best served by starting with GB II, as it seems to be a kind of lateral move from the Advanced program in BOM, and an essential precursor to GB III.  If I were to start with GB I, I'm concerned I'd be taking an unnecessary step back, insofar as it seems to cover a lot of the same territory as BOM.

While I plan to lift the rest of my life, I don't anticipate I'll ever be able to devote myself to my training in such a way that would lead me to use GB IV.

Please let me know what you think and what questions I should ask myself to evaluate what kind and level of training I'm ready to take on. Thank you for your help. Best regards,
--R.

Rick - congrats on having the wisdom and humility to start with BOM beginner program and progress through, in light of your training experience. What many often overlook is that we ideally train for 60-80 years, so don't rush!

Re whether to use GB 1 -

"If I were to start with GB I, I'm concerned I'd be taking an unnecessary step back, insofar as it seems to cover a lot of the same territory as BOM."

I assume you base this on your reading of the book?

Also you have perhaps not factored in the recovery cost/impact of 33% per week more training? So even if it was 'the same' (which I am not sure on), then it still is not 'the same' on perspective of volume.

Ultimately trust your intuition in this decision but watch the ego. And remember - it is a long ride. FYI I use the GB 1 program often - min once a year. And I have been training (strength) for 40 years.

Great to see you realize that GB IV is not for everyone.

I'm missing Part 3 (Get Strong!). Is there any way I can find this?

This may sound like an odd comment / request, but I have successfully used Coach King's "Get back in shape" program from Men's Health three different times to get into killer shape. I still have the series from the magazine, but am missing Part 3 (Get Strong!). Is there any way I can find this. I would very much appreciate it - once you find something that really works it's hard to think of using anything else! Thanks,
--Ryan

Ryan - great feedback and great to hear the program has enduring value. Not surprised! I think MH were, as the impact of this series was the catalyst for the Book of Muscle. I have had many request the articles, but I too have yet to find a way to obtain reprints. If you find a way let me know so I can share this with the ongoing list of inquires re this.

Display some of your articles on our site

Dear Ian, Thank-you for the awesome articles you write. We are currently setting up a website for the education of our clients and fellow trainers. It would be a great honour to display some of your articles on our site. Obviously full credit would go to you and we could most definitely link your site to the article too. At the end of each article we will place a photo of you, a brief bio, and a link to your site/or products if you wish. Please allow us to spread your knowledge.

I consistently do not do what you are asking. For a number of reasons, not the least including I don't market myself in the way most do. All the best with your endeavours. Great to see you having a go.

KSI Coaching Program

The KSI Coaching Program is the only professional development program of its kind - a multi-year, hands-on mentored coaching program dedicated to the mastery of the KSI way of physical preparation.

The KSI Coach Intern Program (CIP) is the first stage of the KING Coaching Program. Typically conducted over a one year period, the KSI CIP provides coaches and KSI the opportunity to review their respective suitability for the next and more demanding stage of the KSI Coaching Program.

It's been almost a year since I joined KSI CIP 101. And it's been quite a journey. In the last eleven months I received a huge amount of knowledge that now sets me miles apart from any of my colleagues here, I am now well able to make a big difference in the lives of my clients. Not that this makes me arrogant, I got educated not only in the field of physical preparation, but much wider, in how to be a well rounded person. This is one thing that I value above the rest, KSI CIP course has given me a perspective, an indication where (and why) I'm now, and where I should be going from here, professionally, personally and financially. All I can say is, thank you, to Ian, Mike and the whole KSI Team.

Thanks, the call yesterday was great! Since I've never been part of a conference call prior I didn't know what do expect but I liked it very much and it helped me to see information that I thought I understood in a different light. I wrote over 3 sheets of paper of notes that I will work through again until next Friday!
