 1. RainTank Utilized for Stormwater Harvest Retrofit.
Modular Versitility Provide Benificial Reuse of Stormwater Run-off!

SRU_RainTank_Cover RainTank, is a subsurface water storage structure that provides significant design and construction versatility as well as 95% void space, facilitating maximum storage with minimum disturbance for stormwater retention / detention / infiltration applications.

This case study from a western Pennsylvania University provides an overview of the implementation of the system in stormwater harvesting retrofit application.

After years of dealing with the drainage aspects of stormwater, and an on site spring, runoff and then paying for water to irrigate playing fields, the university decided on a progressive solution. The harvesting application solves both problems by creating an efficient storage area that can retain the stormwater/spring runoff and store it for later irrigation applications.

 2. SHOREBLOCK ® Articulating Concrete Block System (ACB) utilized for Low Profile, High Performance Spillway Lin
"Tapered" Articulaing Block System (ACB) Provide Enhance Hydraulic Stability Performance.

Harwinton_cover SHOREBLOCK® SD series ACB system is a matrix of individual concrete blocks placed together to from an erosion resistant overlay with specific hydraulic performance characteristics. While ACBs are usable for a variety of applications, the significant uni-directional flow in auxiliary spillways present a unique design challange. SHOREBLOCK's new tapered series provides the enhanced hydraulic performance needed for this auxiliary dam spillway project.

 3. How does that look today? 1st of a series of ACF updates on Mature Geosynthetic Applications!
High Performance TRM replaces Rip-Rap for 1999 Channel Lining.

Porter_rd_Pmat_cover As the geosynthetic industry continues to mature, ACF is often asked about the long term performance of previous geosynthetic applications. Pyramat High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mat (HPTRM) is a three dimension woven geotextile designed specifically for demanding erosion prevention applications where both long term performance and survivability are critical.

Take a current look at this 1999 project where Pyramat was "value engineered" to replace a Class II riprap lining for permanent erosion prevention in a channel application.

Welcome to "The ACF Environmentalist". Our electronic newsletter that allows us to communicate to our friends, associates and other parties interested in geosynthetic products and applications for stormwater management. Impletemented as stand alone treatments or used as components in larger systems or "treatment trains". ACF's geosynthetic products can be used to improve water quality and/or reduce storm water runoff quantity.
