Greetings!

Interesting times for book enthusiasts. Panther Publishing in UK are presenting three books in the near future. see the first below.

The trend is that British Bikes are getting more expensive. At least if one track the auctions.
Let see if the upcoming Daytona Auction sets new records.

Next addition to BritBike regalia is a Knitted hat with BritBike.com logo. Will be available for orders this coming week. Our #10 T-shirt is top of the line. Click on the link and order a few...;o)

It's easy to get carried away on eBay, specially if you find that rare part you tried so hard to find for such a long time.

As always send BritBike related tips and info to me.

Gary Scott's Triumph TT Bike to be offered at no reserve at the J. Wood and Company Daytona Auction.

Gary Scott burst onto the AMA racing scene racing shoulder to shoulder with Kenney Roberts and company on America's dirt tracks. Gary was named AMA Rookie of the Year in 1972 riding a Triumph. Gary won the AMA Grand National Championship in 1975 on a factory Harley Davidson. In those days the AMA Pro riders had to compete on Short Tracks, 1/2 and Mile Dirt Tracks, TT's as well as Roadrace Circuits to compete for the Grand National Championship.
Yamaha had introduced the dominant roadracer in 1974, the TZ750. For the 1976 season Gary defended his number one plate as a privateer, riding the best machine at each of the venues. Naturally he chose the TZ750 for the roadraces, an XR Harley Davidson for the miles and his trusty Triumph for the TT's and some of the 1/2 Miles. The Triumph was known to be fast and maneuverable.
This 1977 Triumph is as Gary last rode it at the Peoria TT in 1983. You can see in the photographs that Gary is enjoying this fast Triumph ripping out of the turns on the back wheel. The bike was on display at the AMA Hall Of Fame Museum for several years and is documented. The bike is a great piece of American Motorcycle racing history. Jerry Wood

New Book from Panther Publishing Ltd

PANTHER SINCE 1950
Author Steve Wilson Publication Feb/March 2008

Panther produced limited numbers of surprisingly good machines and outlasted many of the better known bikes of their day, finally ceasing to trade in 1966. Their history is perhaps surprisingly little known, but they built a strong reputation for innovation, reliability, durability and comfort for their range of large and small capacity machines. Panther Since 1950 starts with a short but comprehensive history of the company from its inception in the early 1900s manufacturing robust and reliable tourers, to the post war years when it was perhaps best known for its sidecar machines, although post-war Panthers also make excellent solo machines. This book describes in detail all the post-1950 models, from the less well known and increasingly sought after lightweights, to the more familiar single cylinder heavyweights. Full information is given on specifications through the years, engine and frame numbers, and colour schemes. Panther since 1950 is reprinted from Steve Wilson's well known series Motor Cycles since 1950.
