The fall semester is off to a great start at Fresno State. The harvest and crush season is in full swing, and our faculty are busy providing hands-on learning to over 190 students who are enrolled in the Department of Viticulture and Enology (our highest enrollment yet).  

After a successful search earlier this year, we are pleased to announce that Sonet Van Zyl joined our faculty this month.  She will be teaching our table grape production course this semester and will be conducting research on table and raisin grape industry issues..  There will be an open reception at Fresno State on September 28 from 4:00 - 6:30 pm to introduce Van Zyl to the campus community and to our grape and wine industry friends and colleagues. The reception will take place in the Viticulture & Enology Building Conference Room. We hope many of you will be able to join us.
