Meet the Candidates
 
 
Interested members of the grape and wine industry are welcome to attend the following open forums on the Fresno State campus featuring the three candidates who have been selected by the Search Committee to fill the Viticulture and Enology Associate / Professor / Chair and Director position for the Department of Viticulture and Enology and the Viticulture and Enology Research Center.  
 
Monday, May 4:  Dr. Peter Cousins, USDA/ARS, NY
 
Monday, May 11:  Dr. Terry Bates, Cornell University, NY
 
Monday, May 18:  Dr. Christopher Steel, Charles Sturt University, Australia
 
All seminar presentations will be held from 2:15 - 3:15 pm in the Viticulture and Enology Building, Second Floor Conference Room, on the Fresno State campus.
 
All receptions will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Fresno State Winery, Enology Building at Fresno State.
 
Parking will be available in Lots N & O, across the street from the viticulture and enology facilities on Barstow Avenue between Cedar and Maple Avenues.
 
Brief bios will be posted on the department web site as they become available.  Comments may be submitted in writing via email to Dr. Roy Thornton, Search Committee Chair by May 20.

On May 21, the Department of Viticulture and Enology will hold its annual dinner celebration at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Robert Wample to recognize this year's graduating class of 2009.  The dinner is conveniently held the evening before the College of Agricultural Science & Technology's Convocation Ceremony, so families and friends can join the festivities.

The cost to attend or sponsor a dinner is only $25 each. The Class of 2009 grads are complimentary, and viticulture and enology students are only $15 each.   These discounts are made possible because of a generous donation by the Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association.  Grand Occasions Catering, and Bryan and Marit Anthony, are also among the growing list of event sponsors.  Contact Cynthia if you would like to make a donation.
