Annual Alumni & Friends Reunion on January 28 at the Unified Symposium
Each year during the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium in Sacramento, our Department of Viticulture and Enology and the Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association hosts a reunion for our alumni, friends, and colleagues. On Wednesday, January 28 at 6:15 pm, students, staff, faculty and alumni will have an opportunity to reconnect with friends in Fresno State's Parlor Suite at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Park. We hope you will stop by to enjoy some fun, friendship, Fresno State wine, raisins, almonds, and light hors d' oeuvres before you join your colleagues for dinner.
And don't forget to visit us in the Unified Symposium Exhibit Hall (Booth #6) at the Sacramento Convention Center on Wednesday, January 28 and Thursday, January 29. We'd love to see you again and talk to you about the exciting things that are happening in the academic and research programs at Fresno State.
Drop off your business card at our booth on January 28 for an opportunity to win a bottle of Fresno State's 10th Anniversary Syrah wine. This special vintage honors Dr. Carlos Muller, Professor Emeritus, for his many contributions to the Fresno State enology program and winery.
The winner will be announced during the Alumni & Friends Reunion on January 28. Must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the drawing and/or to consume alcohol. |

Search will begin to fill Viticulture and Enology Chair & Director position
Plans have begun to fill the position for the Department of Viticulture and Enology and the Viticulture and Enology Research Center that will be vacated when Dr. Robert L. Wample retires from the university later this year. In 2008, after nearly nine years of service to California State University, Fresno, Dr. Wample announced that he will retire from the university in August of 2009 as the department chair and director of research for the Department of Viticulture and Enology and Viticulture and Enology Research Center, respectively.
Dr. Wample joined Fresno State's viticulture and enology program in 2000 and since that time has been instrumental in developing the newly created Department of Viticulture and Enology (2000). As chair of the department and director of research, he oversees all viticulture and enology academic and research programs at Fresno State. His dedication and tireless efforts continue to result in increased awareness of the excellent programs at Fresno State. He looks forward to serving the university until his retirement date in August, at which time we hope to have successfully completed a search to fill this important position for our program.
