Vino Italiano held at the Fresno State Winery

The Fresno State Winery opened its doors to the community this week on April 17 to present Vino Italiano! This wine tasting event features Italian varietals produced by the students at Fresno State, and for the first time it included a two-year vertical tasting of one of its most popular Italian varietals, Sangiovese. The Department of Viticulture and Enology will hold its annual dinner celebration on Thursday evening, May 15 to honor their newest class of trained viticulturists and winemakers. Family, friends, alumni, and industry friends are welcome to attend this dinner celebration in Clovis held the evening before the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology's Convocation ceremony on campus. The cost to attend the May 15 dinner is $25 per person. Registration Details RSVP by May 8.

Don't Miss Fresno State Grape Day on August 12
An informal field day for grape growers and winemakers
Mark your calendars! Grape growers, packers, pest control advisors, winery personnel, and those interested in learning more about grapes and wine are encouraged to attend Grape Day at Fresno State on Tuesday, August 12.
Grape Day is an informal field day held every other year that showcases Fresno State's viticulture and enology program, including the grape and wine research that is being conducted by research scientists through the Viticulture and Enology Research Center. The program will begin at 7:30 am and will include field, lab, and winery tours, classroom style presentations, and poster presentations by faculty, staff, students, and industry partners. Program details will be available soon on our web site.
