California State University, Fresno unveiled new packaging of student produced value-added raisins and almonds, and a new summer red wine called, Solstice, at the university's Farm Market on Wednesday, June 21.

Enology student Mitchell Masotti has been selected by the Department of Viticulture and Enology to receive an all expense paid trip this summer to Oporto, Portugal, sponsored by ACI Cork USA. Masotti, of Maui, HI, will visit the second largest cork producer in the world and parent company of ACI Cork USA. He has agreed to share what he learns with the university by presenting two closure seminars this fall after he returns. Congratulations, Mitchell, for receiving ACI Cork USA's Award of Excellence in Enology!

Mark your calendars! Fresno State Grape Day will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at the Fresno State vineyards and winery on campus. The Viticulture and Enology Research Center and Department of Viticulture and Enology will open its doors and showcase their latest research projects and program offerings to grape growers and winemakers. Presentations, tours, and demonstrations from 7:30 am - noon, including lunch. This event is sponsored by the American Vineyard Magazine. Pre-registration is requested by July 31.
