North Lake Shore Earth Day Celebration -- April 12
Earth DayNorthside communities come together to educate and celebrate Earth Day. Taking care of the Earth is a collaborative effort. In that spirit, the north side communities of Andersonville, Edgewater, Ravenswood, Rogers Park, Uptown, and West Ridge have joined forces with Loyola University Chicago to host the first North Lake Shore Earth Day Celebration scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 9am-4pm at Loyola University Chicago, Quinlan Life Sciences Building at 1060 W. Sheridan Road.

More than 15 workshops and panels explore every aspect of caring for the environment -- globally and locally -- to empower Chicagoans to take action in making the world greener. Hosting a Networking Event
EnergizeDid you know that as a chamber member you are eligible to host a networking event in your store/office/restaurant. All you need to do is provide some munchies, soft drinks, and staff for hospitality, and be able to accommodate 25-50 guests. The chamber will promote and handle registration and program. These events will always be held on the last Thursday of the month from 5:30-7pm. It's great exposure for your business. Hull House 10-week Entrepreneurship Training Program begins April 8
Hull HouseThe Illinois Small Business Development Center at Hull House presents its 10-week Entrepreneurship Training Program aimed at helping aspiring and current small business owners write a business plan. Classes begin at their north side location, 4429 N. Clifton, on April 8, meeting on consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30pm. Cost for the class is $200. Payment plans are available, but a $40 deposit is required to reserve a space in the class.

Dancing Stars8k runJoin Alternatives this spring for two fun events!On April 12, 2008, they will be holding the annual benefit gala at The CLUB At 151, 151 East Wacker, for "Dancing to the Stars," including live and silent auctions, youth entertainment and salsa lessons! They will also be holding their first annual 8k run, The Alternate Route - 8k Run for Youth on May 18, 2008 at Diversey Harbor.
