Sheridan was recently hit with graffiti from Montrose to Argyle. A person was arrested and will appear in court on Friday, January 18 at 1:30pm, CB #017101318. The community is encouraged to come to the courtroom as a clear message that Uptown cares about its community and will not tolerate this activity. Illinois Smoke Free Act
logoAs you are probably already aware, on January 1, 2008 the Illinois Smoke Free Act took effect and banned smoking in almost all public places. This new law impacts businesses such as bars, restaurants that have not already gone some free, tobacco retailers, and those businesses that were programmed to go smoke free in July 2008.

Free Card Hard ID Class
Attend a free State Of Illinois CARD HARD ID class to teach your staff how to identify fake ID's. There are two classes: February 5 at 6pm or February 26 at 4pm. The classes will be an hour long and be held at the 23rd District Community Policing Room at 3608 N. Halsted.

There is a 30 person limit per class and they are already filling up. You must call or email to reaserve your seat. Contact Carrie Steiner at 312-744-0064 or email 23ehotline@chicagopolice.org.
