Greetings!
A lot is happening at KHT. Our kids are busy every week with activities at and through the center. Staff and volunteers are even busier keeping up with the fun. We have been recognized recently with grants and an award. We are proud to share the honor with you. Read on for all the details and check out our calendar of events at the right.
The holidays can be difficult for grieving children. When they come together in their peer groups, there are opportunities to remember and share. It seems to ease the pain. We encourage families and friends to help children talk about their memories. Ask what they are missing. Take a moment to honor the bonds they have with those they are missing by lighting a candle, creating a card, or sharing pictures.
KHT is thankful for all those who have supported us this year with monetary donations, making it possible to have a permanent, child friendly, safe place for grieving children and families. We are thankful for all those who have blessed children's lives with grants, donations, in-kind gifts, volunteer time, and services. The gratitude in my heart and all of our hearts here at KHT is exceeded only by the renewed sense of joy that grieving children show when they come to the center. |

Thank you to these caring volunteers. Our children and families receive special treatment from: Rika Katsuya, Yuko Cervino, and Natsuki Honda. They give foster parents neck and shoulder massages at Surf for the Soul (pictured above) and at our Monday night support group for children in care. These massage therapists are enormously appreciated by the parents and Kids hurt too.
