So many people have been interested in another side project of Dandelion - that baby belly Julie is sporting!
The little sprout is due August 22nd, so you might see a little bit less of Julie around the cafe in the next month or two, but you can keep up to date on her planned homebirth on her mama blog: Gaia Mama

Greetings!

It's been so amazing to see & hear all the support from so many people in our community since our last newsletter when we described the Community Supported Enterprise (CSE) program we are now relying on to help us survive & thrive in this changing economy.

Contributions have come from all over the country from friends, fans, patrons, local business owners & even vendors! For those of you in a tough financial situation like us, thank the generosity of patrons like Dee & David, who have got you covered:

"We are sending $111 - for ten folks who wish they could but can't. I am among your original and most faithful customers, because of Dandelion's philosophy, commitment, integrity, and quality of food and staff. I am confident that the Universe will answer your call in the best of ways." - Dee Rivers-Yowell & David Yowell

The entire Dandelion staff has been so grateful for the increased business, generous donations (thanks Brendan Wood for your coffee can of loose change - it added up to $45!!!), and community response to the situation.

While we've made it 25% to our goal, we are still relying on the good people of our community to chip in by August 11th. Keep reading for the full update, along with great events happening this week to keep the fun flowing.
JulieSustainably yours,

We still need your assistance!
- Deadline is August 11th -

Contributors are thanked with a tea on the house &

Chip In My Friend! Will You Chip In? It's Easy!

"Chip In" online right now
or
fill the Karma Jar at the cafe
on your next visit!

(But, why? Click here for the story.)

We made some calculations and figure that if 1,111 Dandy customer's donated just $11.11 this month we would be able to pay three months rent.

Read about it in the Orlando Sentinel!

This is part one of our Community Supported Enterprise program.

Dandelion's Sustainable Business Plan

After the launch of our online Community Supported Enterprise (CSE) program, we've gotten few really good questions. Here's the first one:

Question:
What does long-term viability look like? That is, if business picked up to what it was a year ago, would the business be able to carry itself?

For the answer, read the rest on our blog: http://dandelioncommunitea.com/2009/07/29/good-question-does-dandy-have-a-sustainable-business-plan/
