Greetings!
"What to do, what to do?" I wondered out loud recently. You see, I have been torn about decorating the cafe for the holiday season for a number of reasons, including concern over the environmental impact of new decorations, needing to conserve financial resources and most importantly, wanting be inclusive of the many traditions that everyone in the community celebrates this time of year. Moments after I explained my conundrum, a friend offered the perfect solution: why don't you have everyone in the community bring in one used decoration? Ah HA!!! Brilliant!
So, calling all community: bring in one holiday item from your tradition that you would love to see on display at the cafe. (We'll even thank you, see coupon at bottom of page!) If we get too many, we will donate them to a good cause. Why didn't I think of this eariler?
Speaking of...check out this tip that I came across for a local place to get an eco-friendly potted Christmas Tree.
p.s. We just got in some LOCAL, ORGANIC, VEGAN gelato made with organic agave nectar. We know it's cold out, but you won't care when you have a spoonful of lime, grapefruit, peanut butter or chocolate cherry gelato in your happy mouth! Yummy! We're also freaking out about Joe's Oats Patties - we've got some for your stocking!
p.p.s. As you may have noticed, just about every time you come in I've moved stuff around. We've made it even easier for you to take some tea home with you. We are now packaging each of our organic tea's daily in eco-friendly grab & go stay fresh bags! They make GREAT gifts!

Give Local LOVE this Holiday Season
We've got a great deal on Gift Certificates to Dandelion this year - with any $25 in gift certificates, you will get a FREE gift certificate to your choice of Shine On Yoga, The Little Green Spa, the Evolve Store or the Florida School of Holistic Living. If you purchase $50 in gift certificates, you get all of 'em. Now that's a deal! (While supplies last)
Do you own your own business? We want to support our local economy with a gift certificate exchange with other local businesses. We'd like to give them as gifts to some of the coolest cats in town! If you are interested in participating, please email julie@dandelioncommunitea.com and we'll swap! Please indicate the quantity and dollar value you are comfortable exchanging as well as the nature of your business, address and contact info.

Foodie Awards: Best Vegetarian by Readers & Critic
The Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards just came out and we are totally jazzed that we were voted Best Vegetarian by it's readers as well as the critic, Scott Joseph.
Here's what he had to say:
It would have been easy to go back to Woodlands or Udipi, both vegetarian restaurants, but I'm happy to join you in recognizing this little startup that puts an emphasis on the Communitea. The selections, which include some vegan entrees, are limited, but owner Julie Norris, a charter member of Orlando's nascent slow-food movement, places importance on buying from local purveyors. Some* of it is organic, but in the "funky, relaxed atmosphere" you probably won't notice**.
*"some" really should say "almost everything" as over 95% of our ingredients are organic.
**actually, we hope you DO notice our food is organic, since the pure flavor burst of organic food is why we consistently win best vegetarian in the Weekly, the Sentinel & recently, best FOOD (not just veggy) at Taste of Thornton Park.
