Greetings!
September has arrived with a promise of cooler weather and too much fun to be had, if you are looking at the same calendar I am! As much as I love the heat (being the sassy Leo that I am) I am looking forward to some relief and some of the fun that is planned this fall for all to enjoy.
As we put another season under our belt, we are are happily watching the Community Garden taking shape on our front lawn. The good folks at the Florida School of Herbal Studies have been planning and sweating and planting for almost a year now & all of us in the community will have an opportunity to pay our respects & blessings for their hard work on Tuesday, September 11th during a very special Peace Planting and New Moon Drum Circle. (See below for more details).
Fall promises to be action packed! Read on as I've summarized some happenings at the cafe as well as around town, be sure to mark your calendars and come out and support this bustling, growing, expanding community in OurLando! |

Julie hosts new local's only radio show on WPRK 91.5
Front Porch is a weekly radio show I'm hosting and focuses on all things local. Each week features a different guest making a difference locally with eclectic blends of local music and various ramblings about what is happening in OurLando.
I'm just getting my radio feet, so excuse my um's and long pauses! Tune your dial to WPRK 91.5 or listen online at wprkdj.org every Wednesday at noon. Check the calendar for more info on the guest speakers.
If you are interested in being a guest speaker, please email me back at julie@dandelioncommunitea.com. If you are a local musician, drop off your CD at the cafe in an envelope marked "Front Porch" with the tracks most suitable for radio play (no bad lyrics).

Elevate.Listen.Love.Appreciate @ ELLA Fest Every once in awhile something so special happens in this little-big town of ours that I must share it with you so that you too can have the inside track on the grandest projects in the works. One such project in development encompasses several elements near and dear to my heart: women, florida, music, art and community.
Allow me to introduce: E.L.L.A. Music Fest, a celebration of the Florida female artist. This festival is packed with AMAZING, and I mean freaking INCREDIBLY TALENTED ladies, all from Florida who would like to introduce themselves to YOU on October 5th & 6th at the Rogers Building in Downtown Orlando. Check out their myspace, tell all your friends, volunteer your time, and then go experience the lovely ladies yourself! While you are on myspace, do yourself a favor and explore the artists that will be performing. My pick's (so far) are Raffa & Rainer's "Highheeled Shoes", Jen Pumo's "Flavor", Geri X's "You're a Pearl", Rachel Goodrich's "Side of the Road" - but explore for yourself and discover yours!
If you wanna lend a hand, invest some moola or just want to find out more, contact Robert Johnson at ellamusicfest@gmail.com, tell him the Dandy's sent ya!
