Greetings!

Carbon Conscious Consumer Logo Did you know you can eat healthier, support your local economy, and help reduce CO2 emissions in one simple step?  In fact, you can do all of this and have the chance to win a "makeover" for your yard complete with herb garden and fresh vegetables, and all you have to do is eat - eat locally, that is.

Click here to join the campaign and learn more about becoming a Carbon Conscious Consumer.

Like you, The Center for a New American Dream is concerned about the environment.  While it may seem like no single person can make a difference, they know that a lot of people can make a huge difference.  Each month from July to December c3.newdream.org will feature a new small action that can make a significant change, plus they'll show you the positive impact you can make.

Why eat locally?  Small farmers use fewer pesticides than the large farms supplying supermarkets, making your food less harmful.  Additionally, the average food sold in America travels over 1500 miles, causing 5 to 17 times more carbon emissions than local food.  You'll also be using less packaging, and supporting local business while you're at it.  Make a difference and sign up today.

Julie Needs Bailed Out!

Julie desperately needs your help! She just made the "MDA's Most Wanted" list! Believe it or not, she is going to be arrested on August 1, 2007 and she needs your help to raise the dough to bail her out of jail. She will be locked up "For Good" unless we can help her come up with a minimum of $3,000 bail.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be locking her up the Orange County Regional History Center and charged with "having an extremely big heart." Your donation toward bail will not only help set her free, but will also help many area children and adults with muscle diseases by adding vital funds to MDA's research efforts. So, please help a sista out (of jail)! Click here to post bail.
