Ok folks - greeting from La La Land. By the time many of you read this, I will hopefully be somewhere in the air getting closer to my favorite hometown - Philly.
Big Shout outs to everyone on the West Coast that made me feel welcomed again.The party here was great.
NOW HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT PHILLY THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
1. This Friday at the Piazza we honor 4 artists that have, and continue to shape dance music. Please join us for a early evening of dancing to the music of James Brown, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince. Myself, Dj A-Run, Dirty and Dj Del will be spinning choice cuts from these legendary artist. The party is free and open to all - it starts at 5 pm and ends at 9pm.
Directly following this party Sundae is doing the grand opening of the Fringe Festival. Myself along with Del and others will be playing everything funky all night long into the weeeeeee hours. If you have not been to the Festival Bar - you are missing something. The bar is on the SW corner of 5th and Fairmount. free parking, no cover, open late, and the bar is AMAZING.
2. DUE TO A SCHEDULING CONFLICT THIS SUNDAE WILL BE AT OCTO WATERFRONT GRILL FROM 3PM TILL 9PM. WE WILL RETURN TO THE PIAZZA NEXT WEEK.
KING BRITT PRESENTS THE DYNAMITE BROTHERS WITH DOZIA, TANJA DIXON AND LADY ALMA. THERE IS ALSO A VERY SPECIAL GUEST COMING BY LATER IN THE EVENING.....OCTO IS LOCATED AT 221 N COLUMBUS BLVD (DEL AVE). MANY OF YOU LOVED THE PARTY WHEN IT WAS HERE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND ITS GOING TO BE A BLAST AGAIN. PLEASE RSVP IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND AND GAIN FREE ADMISSION AND A SPOT ON THE DANCE FLOOR. 3. Silk City will also be off the hook with a very special appearance of Questlove. We are going to rock the inside and outside of Silk with one of our most requested Djs ever. Due to Amir's busy schedule this was the only way to fit him into our calendar. He is really looking forward to this and I think we all are two. This Sundae will be one not to miss. Silk City will have a $5 cover for the night. As soon as Octo is finished rush over to Silk - the whole city is talking about this party. We will try to keep an eye out for our regulars as much as we can. We will try to get you in front of the general public, but the earlier you come the better.
