 WOMEN IN THE UCC

Speak your mind-The UCC wants to hear from you! The UCC Women's Ministry is taking a survey and wants to hear from lay and clergy women, young and older about resources, programs, groups, ministires, meetings and what you are doing at your local church and how they can be of help. Take the survey and let your voice be heard.

 UCC STUDENTS ATTENDING PENN STATE

If you have students in your congregation who will be attending Penn State this fall, Faith UCC, State College located at 300 E College Avenue, directly across from the heart of Penn State's campus, especially welcomes college students who would like to have Faith as their church away from home. Students are welcome to join us in worship and other church activities. Faith has always understood ministry to Penn State students to be an important part of its mission.

FOR CONGREGATIONS WHO MAY HAVE FAMILIES STRUGGLING WITH MORTGAGE PAYMENTS

If you have homeowners in your congregation struggling with their mortgage payments, they can apply NOW for the federal Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP) if they are unable to make their monthly mortgage payments because of job loss or income reduction. This program is available through Sept. 30. Homeowners facing foreclosure should call 1.800.342.2397. They may be eligible for a loan or 24 months of mortgage payment assistance. If they are not eligible for EHLP, they may still be eligible for Pennsylvania's Homeowners Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program .

 EMMANUEL, YORK SPONSORS 4-SESSION PROGRAM

Navigating Life's Last Stages: What Do I Need to Know and Why? will be held once a month beginning August 28. Most of us enter unknown territory when an illness or situation arises that creates the need to make difficult decisions concerning care surrounding imminent death. Sessions will be held at the Yorktown Community Center, 1059 Kelly Drive, York, 17404. Pre-registration is not required; however, it's helpful in preparing materials. E-mail eucc_york@yahoo.com or call 717-801-1082 to attend any or all sessions.
