Diva Toolbox Conference for Women

I had the privilege of speaking at the Diva Toolbox Conference in Wakefield in October. Luckily, our CDO Training principles can provide a context for anyone looking to grow their business. Click for our White Paper on Living Your Entrepreneurial Dreams featuring our members Ellen Keiter, Julie Remele, Maria Piedra and Judy Giovangelo.

Janet Powers, founder of the Diva Toolbox, with savvy and genuine caring, has put together an amazing organization that supports women in getting their work out there in the world. This conference was full of impressive presenters who had their fingers on the pulse of sales, social media, networking and entrepreneurism.

There were several featured speakers. First, Peter Shankman, a fast-talking, diet soda-drinking entrepreneur who has started Halo and Vocus. Checkout his video on using Twitter.

Then hysterically funny Mimi Donaldson, who wrote Necessary Roughness: New Rules for the Contact Sport of Business, had us rolling on the floor describing the difference between men and women using football analogies. Click to hear her in action.  This dovetailed nicely into Jeffery Tobias Halter's talk on Selling to Men, Selling to Women. He points out that women are relational and men tend to be transactional. Check out the book and see what you think.

Then finally we heard, Mike Michalowicz, who started his first business at 24 years old. He had a scrappy (crappy) approach to starting a business which he offers in his book, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur.  I have read it since the conference and highly recommend it.

And just a few more. For a revenue breakthrough, check out Monica Shah. For a heart-felt approach for working with your saboteur, check out Belanie Dishong and her video on Dealing with the Holidays. And if your want to Love your Divorce meet Dr. Dena Churchill.

Want to attend the Diva Toolbox Conference, next year? It is October 18-20th and I know Janet will make it bigger and better. For more info...
