Eating Your Way Back to Health: Fueling Dreams
and Growing Wings

JeannineCalabriaI was a new mother when I discovered the significant impact food can have on health. I was exhausted and depressed after having my second child. I had been living on coffee, chocolate and Diet Coke to keep up with a baby at night and a toddler during the day. I didn't feel like exercising. I needed help. My doctor suggested Prozac and sleeping pills. After one week of feeling drugged, I decided to take charge of my health. I decided to cut out all caffeine, sugar and processed foods. Luckily I was invited to join a mother's running group. Between the "clean eating" and the increased exercise, I lost weight and had energy again. I didn't know it then, but I was following my body's natural instinct to cleanse. But did I keep it up? By winter I was back with the sweets and caffeine.

The next year was another wake-up call. My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer. She had lived a lifetime with a sluggish system, low thyroid and minor anxious-depression. I felt I was looking in a mirror and going down the exact same path. As I watched my mother fight her cancer with juicing, taking herbs and changing her diet, I realized that I didn't want to wait until I was diagnosed with cancer to change my lifestyle. After years of personal trial and error and many hours of training, I now have some pretty amazing ways to keep my energy grounded and steady.

On November 17th, I am giving a talk that will focus on "Roots and Wings".   You will hear ways to develop a strong, healthy and deep root system to withstand life's ups and downs. And, you'll learn about how to eat specifically for this time in your life. What our bodies crave are whole and living foods, straight from the earth and into our kitchens. Our dreams become real when we have the steady, constant energy to nurture them into flight. Looking forward to sharing with you recipes for your life's dreams!
