Jean Papagni: Spark to a Flame Coaching
The Voices Inside Our Heads
Jean Papagni

Jean Papagni; Spark to a

Flame Coaching

I have this team inside my head I'd like to tell you about.

First there's Frank.  He's a bit obsessive compulsive, very focused on getting the job done exactly right.  He believes everything must be done just so, or don't bother.  He keeps me on task...or else.

Then there's Amanda.   She is super cool.  She's laid back, wears groovy clothes, and is very easy going --the goddess chick type.

She tells me to just relax and assures me that everything will
be okay, and that there is no need for worry.  She usually
chooses a walk in the woods over getting work done.

And then there's Abigail. Ugh. She is always wearing a suit, she's the executive type.  She gives me this disapproving look
as she peers over her glasses and points that boney finger at
me.  She tells me it's not good enough, and that I don't work
hard enough - that I am lazy.  She thinks I am too emotional too.
I need to toughen up if I'm gonna survive.  Welcome to my
personal world of power-zapping saboteurs.  I have many more characters, but I think you get the idea.

The thing is, we all have these voices in our heads and they

can really wreak havoc on our lives. Some call them gremlins, inner critics, or my favorite is Itty Bitty Shitty Committee.  Many of

these voices are messages that have actually been said to us at some point in our lives, often by our parents, teachers or other

authority figures that we respected.

They're not all bad, and in fact many of them have been keeping

us safe for much of our lives, particularly when we were young.  The problem is we often have trouble discerning if these

voices really have our best interests at heart or if they are

just desperate to maintain the status quo.

What are the messages in your head? Maybe "I am

disorganized, my family comes first, I don't have time to write

that book, I can do this by myself, I couldn't possibly say no -

they need me!"  There are so many messages we listen to that prevent us from living our lives with authenticity, self-love,

and joy.  These voices are masterful at keeping us small, safe

and in our box.

Allowing them to run our lives prevents us from living up to

our fullest potential and can leave us feeling frustrated, confused and depressed.  The good news is, it doesn't have to

be that way!  There are ways to outsmart these voices so you

can bravely step into a life that supports the full expression of

who you are.

Please join me at the next Dream Factory Luncheon on

Thursday, November 18th for Saboteur Smackdown and learn some strategies for managing your saboteur voices that will

put you on a path to leading an empowered and self-fulfilled life.

                Women's Week in France
"Ecrivant  le second acte de ta vie  -  prends les rênes"
                         June 5-11, 2011
  • Are ready for an adventure?
  • Have you ever lived in the luxury of a 'tres Bellemaison'?
  • Would you like to live in France for a week with a chef, chauffeur, maid and Bill and Sydney Patten as our guides?

We have the opportunity to be welcomed into the home of Sydney and Bill Patten in the tiny mountain village of Ore in the Pyrenees. In contrast to tourist trodden regions like Provence or Tuscany, you will find a frontier landscape - a tranquil but uniquely varied terrain of hiddden valleys, pagan ruins, gentle walks, and sometimes rugged trails that include pilgrimage routes.

Ore France
La Belle Maison
The theme for the week is: "Ecrivant  le second acte de ta vie  -  prends les rênes."  (Writing the second act of your life - taking the reins)  Does that speak to YOU?
