• Upper Shore Regional Council is supporting Md's "Economic Gardening Initiatives". The focus is on building up businesses in technology, agriculture and others.  They have partnered with Washington College to develop the Harvest Directory a resource of agriculture businesses and the products they produce.
• Mike talks about some new opportunities for entrepreneurs including video taping a "sales" pitch.  See information under events.  The bus will be in Easton, Chestertown and Chesapeake College on September 13th.  There is also a business plan competition and much more including a new training program for entrepreneurs .

September 20th..Major Lee, Army National Guard and Ken Lemberg, Apprenticeship Programs, Dept. of Labor discuss what employers, including the Guard, are doing to develop the skills needed in their workplace and how the government is providing financial support to business. 

September 27th, Lisa Rosser, Founder, The Value of a Veteran, speaks on employer benefits in hiring veterans--including economic benefits, and how employers are benefiting from Apprenticeship and OJT programs.

In October special guests Beverly Kaye,internationally recognized author and consultant in employee retention and career development and Doug Krug, organizational consultant to executives in the federal and private sectors.
