Summertime in Vermont! So much Volleyball to play!  We've got all types of tournaments for every level, and pick-up too!

 

This is our first e-newsletter! Please let us know what you think, and if you have any questions. We are also always looking for volunteers to help us out.

Burlington Crazy Sixes?  

 

Yes it is true, after over two decades of playing crazy sixes at the Quechee Balloon Festival, we are moving to Oakledge Park, on Lake Champlain in Burlington, the original home of big Volleyball tournaments in Vermont.  

 

New Tournament Details:

 

June 18th and 19th at Oakledge Park in Burlington.  

Teams can play one day, but are encourage to play both!
To Register: Contact Chris Kilmer 
with a roster  Cost: $120 per team per day     

 

Rules:
*Each team must consist of three men and three women lined up alternately (you don't need the same players each day). 
A maximum of one ghost player per team is allowed, and will result in a loss of serve and point once every six rotations.  


*Saturday -- Men's height net             
 

Men and women are allowed to attack.  If there is more than one contact on a side, a woman must touch the ball.

In rotations where there is only one man in the front row, teams are allowed to bring a man up from the back row to block only (he still must attack from behind the 10-foot line)             

 

*Sunday -- Women's height net            

Women are allowed to attack - men can only play the ball over the net with CLEAR UPWARD ARC.  If there is more than one contact on a side, a man must touch the ball.  In rotations where there is only one woman in the front row, teams are allowed to bring a woman up from the back row to block only (she still must attack from behind the 10-foot line).

Co-ed Reverse King /Queen of the .... Grass Tournament - June 5th

 

 

Need Some Definitions:

 

Co-ed Reverse - Played on a women's height net. Men must hit behind the 10' line and can't block. Women can hit and block.

 

King/Queen Tourn. - Switching partners every match

 

Details -

Sunday June 5th. Oakledge Pk,  Burlington.

11am Start time (Be there at 10:30 or don't show).

Ending between 4 and 6 ??    $20 per person

Vermont's own "Serves You Right" club team is off to Nationals in Dallas, Texas. This year's team includes: Chris Kilmer,  Colin Rose, Joe Wager, Prineet Amin, Mark Browne, Roger Kuo, Steve Laubenberg, and Jeff Snyder.

Saint Michael's Grass Volleyball Tournaments  

 

There are high expectations for the summer grass tournament schedule at St. Michael's after a great 2010 season.  Come out for  great play, while supporting the St. Michael's Volleyball team too.

Did You Hear About the New Sand Courts?

 

Williiston School

Behind the Middle School, Williston Parks and Rec. will be adding two more sand courts, making a total of four!  If all goes well the Colchester Thursday Night Sand Quads League (all full with a waiting list) will be moving there in July, so everyone can all play at the same location.
