~Very first fundraiser, August 2011, Pancakes by the Pool, hosted by Catherine Butschi- a High School Student in Tyler
~'Made for Survivors' fundraiser in Palestine, September 2011 generated over $16,000
~'Children Are Pricele$$' fundraiser in Tyler, October 2011 raised over $9,000
~December 7, 2011...ROL Board agrees to MOU (memorandum of understanding) with a child placing agency that has been in the works for over 6 months....PRAISE GOD! More details to follow in the days to come.

Luke 4:18-19 The spirtit of the Lord is on me, because He has annointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
Refuge ministry leaders, Mike & Norma Mullican, have had the honor of working with at-risk youth in the Juvenile Detention Center in Palestine this past year. This center services 18 counties in East Texas. God has shown tremendous favor in this ministry. Over 240 children (boys & girls) have been ministered to and 129 professions of faith have occurred. Refuge of Light is dedicated to the redemptive rescue and restoration of young girls victimized by sex trafficking. One of our greatest avenues in accomplishing this is through prevention. Teaching young men they are to be Godly leaders, even when there isn't a daddy, at home, to lead by example. Teaching young girls that they are image bearers of Christ; that their bodies are a treasured temple and should be treated as such.

It will be a shelter and a shade, a refuge and a hiding place....
God has blessed Refuge of Light with land and surrounding facilities, including a pecan orchard, chapel, a 3,000 sq. foot covered pavilion and a 'commons area' with a kitchen. A cottage home would complete this refuge. ROL is diligently working to provide the funds for the construction of a much needed home for young girls rescued out of sex trafficking in Texas. With your help we can provide a 'safe-home' for these girls to heal through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
