| Operation Christmas Child |
O peration Christmas Child - Pillowcase Dress-Making - THIS Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Drop in for a time of sewing and fellowship. No need to know how to sew to get involved. Bring family members and friends! Since we'll be running OCC through the 3rd week of November, please continue to bring in items and supplies for the pillowcase dresses: new or gently-used pillowcases (solid, prints-really anything looks adorable!, 1/2" wide elastic and 1/2" extra wide double fold bias tape (any and all colors) and trims. Drop items off at the Welcome Center any time. Please pray for the 8 million children who will receive their shoebox of hope during this campaign!
OCC Official Kick-Off Sunday! - October 14, 2012
We hope you're getting excited to start packing shoeboxes again this year for children in need of HOPE throughout the world! On October 14th we'll officially kick off our campaign with a special speaker and all of the information you'll need to pack shoeboxes with your family, friends, neighbors, small group and co-workers. Encounter God and invite the Holy Spirit to work in you and through you to change the world. Join us as we connect with God through a night of extended music, creative elements, and an inspiring message as the church community unites to worship God in a modern expression of worship. Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Baptism Class - Sunday, November 4 
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have committed your life to following Him, you should consider publicly declaring this through believer's baptism on Sunday, November 11. All interested are asked to sign up to attend the baptism class on Sunday, November 4 by visiting our website at www.southparkchurch.org/baptism. In addition, you will find preparation materials for the class including a recorded message and worksheet.

Prayer for Outreach Partners - Tuesday, October 16 
Praying for our Outreach Partners is the privilege and responsibility of each of us. Come join us in the upper library for a time of dedicated prayer for our SPC Outreach program and our Outreach Partners. No experience needed.
Niles-Park Ridge CROP Walk - Sunday, October 21 
Men, women, and children from 12 area churches will walk or run together on the streets of Park Ridge to raise awareness and funds to fight world hunger. 25% of proceeds to Maine Township Food Pantry. Each walker is also asked to bring 2 cans of soup to the walk to be donated to Maine Township Food Pantry. Walk-day Registration at Redeemer Lutheran Church (1006 Gillick Street, Park Ridge) - 1:30pm; Step-off at 2:00pm. Participants may walk or run a 3 mile or 6 mile route. South Park Church will sponsor refreshments as a walk rest stop this year! Please consider whether you can be a walker or a donor. Register at the Welcome Center Sundays through Oct 14.

W.O.R.D. (7th - 12th graders) - Sundays, 9:15 a.m.
W.O.R.D. stands for Working on Radical Disciples. This form of Bible study is designed to help students deepen their knowledge and understanding of God's Word. Sunday morning W.O.R.D. includes a time of worship, large group teaching, and small group discussion.
Parents of Teens: There are 3 evening Bible studies to help your teen get connected and grow. On our website you can find family devotionals to use that go along with our weekly Sunday morning teaching!
