Becky FloodAssociate Director of Adult Ministries
Greetings!

Women's Ministry seeks to provide opportunities for women to be nurtured in their relationships with God, their families and each other. Please join us in our quarterly Bible study and fall events.

Connect & Serve

Women's Ministry is committed to providing the women of our church body and their friends opportunities to grow in the Lord through studying God's Word, joining together for prayer and accountability, and serving each other and the community. We know that serving others is not a requirement for salvation, but a grateful response to what the Lord has done for us on the Cross. We feel blessed to share two wonderful opportunities in October for you to serve, learn more about our special outreach partners, and connect with each other.

Operation Christmas Child

We hope you'll join us for a special day of fellowship and crafting as we create pillowcase dresses, dolls, small blankets and stuffed animals for the Operation Christmas Child Ministry. The event will take place on Saturday, October 13th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm in Room 317 at South Park Church. You can drop in, stay as long as your schedule allows, and try your hand at one of the shoebox projects. We'll have instructors on hand to demonstrate the projects and get you started. You don't need to be a seamstress or even crafty to come out and create something special and personal for a child in need of the hope of Jesus. If you have extra, new, or gently-used pillowcases (any size, color or pattern), fabric (both cotton or fleece), thread, 1/2" wide elastic, 1/2" wide double fold bias tape (any color) or trim and embellishments (any style or color), we are accepting donations. Please either bring them to the event or drop them off prior to October 13th in the Operation Christmas Child box in the Welcome Center.

If you're interested in attending this event or contributing in any way, please click here to e-mail Diana O'Brien.

Caris

We'd also like to invite you to learn more about our ministry partner, Caris at the annual Caris Benefit Dinner to be held Monday, October 15th at 5:45 pm at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road in Rosemont. The reception begins at 5:45 and the complimentary dinner begins at 6:45. Caris provides counseling and support to women facing unplanned pregnancies. In addition to practical resources, Caris provides hope to women who have had many, even the church, turn their back on them. We hope you'll join us to learn more about Caris' vision for the year to come and to hear testimonies of women whose lives have been changed by the Lord through Caris. It's free to attend the dinner. A free-will offering is accepted at the conclusion of the evening. We are planning to carpool.

Women's Winter Breakfast
February 23, 2013
October 4, 2012

The Women's Ministry invites you to join us for a time of intergenerational friendship and fellowship as we join together to share a meal.

Dinners for six to eight women will be hosted and each women is asked to bring a part of the meal.  To be a host, you simply need to provide a warm atmosphere and a table around which women will gather.  Come, connect and cherish the beauty of intergenerational friendships.

Transitions

New changes are taking place on the women's ministry team! Francine Quintero has stepped out of the Women's Ministry Director roll to be more available for her immediate and extended family's needs as well as other commitments that require more of her time.  Beginning this month, Julie Kittredge has agreed to step into the position and, along with the women's ministry team, looks forward to encouraging, equipping, and connecting women in every season of life!

Julie comes to the team with a passion for living simply, intentionally, and authentically. She's been married to Kenny 15 years this November and is mom to three; Hunter (12), Aidan (10), and Kiana (5). Her life journey has taken her through times of soul searching and finding God, desperate need and constant provision. She's watchful for what freedom in Christ looks like in the day to day and desires to share her discoveries of spiritual freedom with other women who cross her path. Julie is a professional photographer with a niche in photographing families, children, and newborns. She is a creator, an artist, a lover of life, a lover of the outdoors, and a lover of Jesus!
