Kick-off:  Sunday, September 9, 2012

Kick-Off 2012 Kick-Off Sunday 2012: Sept. 9, 2012

One Service at 10:45 a.m.

Car Show, Free Food, Fun

12 - 3 p.m.

The Great Restoration... Why do people go through the trouble of restoring a classic car? Something of great value isn't thrown away; it is restored. The more valuable something is, the greater the attention to detail. Beyond a new paint job, the engine and its parts are cleaned, repaired, or replaced. Believe it or not, that's how God sees us. You're valuable... unique... worth restoring. We'll be learning more about God's great restoration process this September.

Save the Date:  September 23

Post it Note Congregational Business Meeting - Sunday, September 23, 4 p.m.

Every member is a minister.  That's why we gather for congregational meetings.  This fall we'll hear what's planned for Adult, Youth, and Family & Children's Ministries.  We'll learn about a powerful new tool to help us coordinate and communicate with our church family.  The first stage of master planning for facility renovation will be shared.  Trustees and Elders will give vital updates.  And together we will ask for God's leading and blessing.

Baptism - Sunday, September 23  Baptism

Our next baptism will be held Sunday, September 23.  If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have committed your life to following Him, you should consider publicly declaring this through believer's baptism. All interested are asked to sign up to attend the baptism class on Sunday, September 16 by visiting our website at

www.southparkchurch.org/baptism.  In addition, you will find preparation materials for the class including a recorded message and worksheet.

Prayer Team

Thirsty Thirsty Prayer Meeting - Thursday, September 6, 7-8:30 p.m.

Come join us for prayer and worship at our "Thirsty" prayer meeting next Thursday night, Sept. 6, in the Fireside Room. This month we will be focusing on The Supremacy of God. Supremacy is the quality or state of being the

highest in authority or rank; the highest in degree or quality. Christ

is the Head of the church and so we will look to Him as we pray for the kickoff of a new year at South Park Church.
Mothers of Preschoolers

MOPS

MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers - Wednesdays beginning in September

MOPS is now accepting registrations for the new MOPS year beginning in Sept 2012. Registrations are available at the Welcome Center or in the Church office in the MOPS box. MOPS is a community of moms who share a similar desire to be the very best mom they were created to be!  Cost is $150.00 for the year. For more information, contact Caitlyn Warren at caitlynwarren@comcast.net.

MOPS is also looking for volunteers to help with MOPPETS.

MOPPETS is our children's program and that occurs during MOPS. This program allows our women to attend MOPS and enjoy a morning that feeds them with fellowship, faith and food! If you are able to watch children in MOPPETS, we would be blessed by your gift of time and compassion!  Click here to contact Caitlyn Warren for more information.

Outreach Partner:  Caris - Volunteers Needed

Caris is currently looking for compassionate individuals interested in volunteering at a Caris counseling site.  Must be able to commit 4 hours of service weekly helping our counseling staff with administrative tasks, answering phones, and greeting clients.  Volunteers needed at the Caris locations in Schaumburg and the Loop.  Apply at: www.supportcaris.org/volunteer-application.

Adult Ministry

Faith and Fitness - Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. and Fridays at 9 a.m.

This low-impact workout class is available on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9 am. No need to sign up, simply show up in room 209!

COMING SOON:

Parenting Small Group Class - Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

Do you find parenting a challenge? Do you wonder how others are dealing with it and how we can learn from their experiences? Do you wonder how the Bible applies to parenting now? Join us each Sunday morning beginning September 16 as we discuss these issues and more in a small group setting leading to on-going small groups meeting at homes at the conclusion of the series.

Journey Sunday School Class - Sundays, 10:45 a.m.

Join us beginning September 16 as we study the Book of Isaiah. Often, Isaiah is called the "Prince of Prophets" and in this detailed study, we will learn how this important book can apply to our everyday lives. Who was it written to?;   What was the background and the situation then?;   Who was the audience?;  and How does this all apply to us now?

Women's Ministry Fall Bible Study - Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. or 7 p.m.

On our worst day, God doesn't walk away from us. His love for us is not determined by our performance. No matter how many times we mess up God loves (and never leaves) broken people. "I the LORD do not change." Malachi 3:6.  Join us beginning September 20 as we spend eight weeks studying the book of Malachi on Thursdays either at 9:30-11 a.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. The cost is $15.

Iron Men - Saturday Mornings 7 - 8:30 a.m.

An unseen war is raging for the hearts of men and threatens to destroy the warriors God created men to be. In the midst of this war, it's easy to lose our spiritual focus and feel like we've failed. Join us Saturday, September 15 as we begin the series "Battles Every Man Must Win."  We will learn about the different battles and how we need to reset our sights and prevail in the challenges of life. Together, men will learn how to be mighty men of God with our eye on the correct target.

Family and Children's Ministry

Family Dedication - Sunday, November 18, 4 p.m.

Family Dedication is not child baptism or christening. When a child is dedicated at South Park Church, the child is not the only person being dedicated; the parents are as well. South Park Church wants to partner and equip the parents who are committed to raise their children in a Bible-believing home where biblical principles govern the household and are passed down. Therefore, we require that at least one parent must be a believer in Jesus Christ.

Our next Family Dedication is on Sunday, November 18 at 4 pm.  Deadline to register is Sunday, September 23, 2012.  Attendance at both classes & homework submission is mandatory to participate in the event.

Class 1 - Sat, September 29, 2012 9am - 10:00 am

Class 2 - Sat, October 20, 2012 9:00 am - 10:30 am
