Greetings!

Well Summer is officially under way.  Hard to believe it is the 4th of July weekend already.  When you are relaxing and enjoying your local fireworks, keep in mind that there are fireworks happening 36 million miles away.

These "fireworks" pose a significant threat to our national electrical grid and are a good reason to upgrade or maintain your existing back-up power system.  Take a look at the article and video below for more info.

If you have any concerns about the reliability of your system, please give us a call and we can dispatch a tech immediately.

Have a safe and happy 4th,

JEFF.SIG

NOT YOUR TYPICAL FIREWORKS!!!!
solar flare
This is an image of the sun, provided by NASA, which shows and actual solar flare as it happened just 2 weeks ago!  This flare is actually an explosion on the sun's surface that discharges radiation and highly energetic solar particles.  This solar storm can collide with earth's magnetic field causing power surges through our electrical grid.  As a preventive measure, the US and Britain are planning controlled power cuts to try and avoid a catastrophic surge and extended outages.

Take a look at the link below for the article and video - I apologize for the advertisement in the beginning, but it's worth the 30 second ad. (make sure your volume is up)

Bad Air NJ
It's official...  Memorial Day 2011 was the first (and not the last) Hazardous Air Day of 2011.  Please be sure to check for daily air quality before performing your weekly generator test.  If you are testing properly, but not keeping a log book, you are assumed to have violated the NJDEP testing standard as designated by your General Permit and may be subject to fines.
(see the Quick Link to the left for a downloadable run log)

Check www.AirNow.gov for a daily report before you perform a routine generator test (if your generator is over 37kw).  However, you must keep a log book to document every run, test and power failure of your generator system - regardless of kW.  Lately, we have seen the individual County Health Departments enforcing this mandate for the State.  Fines will be issued for: NO PERMIT, NO LOG-BOOK and/or OPERATING ON A BAD AIR DAY!!!

R&J has developed a solution to this time-consuming dilemma of generator testing.  Click the video link to the left to learn more...

CALL US TODAY FOR AN IN-HOUSE DEMONSTRATION

A clean generator is a working generator.  Let R&J clean your generator inside and out.  We will start by performing a full pressure wash of your power system.  This will let us identify any worn parts or leaks.  At this point, we would recommend a resistive load bank test to clean the exhaust of any unburned fuel.  This test will also prove that the machine can carry the rated load.

**Exclusions apply.  Based on exterior unit with available water supply.  Call for details
