Volunteerism at TPCA - What's in it for you?
As part of our charter and student-parent agreement, every family must volunteer 20 hours per school year. Parent commitment to education is a proven, quantitative factor in student achievement and a core value of our school. We appreciate those families who do give of their valuable resource: time. We also recognize that some families have unique and sometimes difficult situations that hinder volunteering. We offer opportunities to contribute supplies and needed classroom items in lieu of volunteer time. Twin Peaks is committed to helping you participate in your child's academic growth.
So, let's get to the core, what is in it for you?
10. TPCA will benefit from your talents! You can share your unique gifts with the school and affect 1000's of lives in a positive way.
9. It saves money for TPCA. In the Independent Sector, the dollar value for volunteering in Colorado is $ 22.03 per hour. IT COSTS YOU NOTHING.
8. You won't forget or be late for school functions.
7. The kids really love your contribution, and you are a great role model for them.
6. Admit it-you really like those field trips.
5. You get to meet a lot of new people.
4. Where else could you see so many smiling faces?
3. You can learn new skills.
2. You really like the attention the kids give you when you walk into their classroom.
1. You really make a difference!
Opportunities are listed weekly in the school newsletter, the Howl. To help you fulfill your parent contract and time commitment to TPCA, Beverly Weinberg, our Volunteer Coordinator can assist you in finding the perfect fit for your skills and comfort level!

OCTOBER COUNT:
October count is a very important time of the year for all schools in Colorado. The October count determines the funding that our school receives from the state. Accurate October counts ensure TPCA receives the funding that enables us to hire and retain the best staff and offer excellent academic programming in a safe and encouraging environment. It is important that students are in attendance throughout this time so that an accurate count of the number of students TPCA has is recorded. The October count window starts on Monday, Sept. 24th and runs to Monday, October 8th. Should you have questions, please contact Marilyn Putrah at putrah_marilyn@svvsd.org

Student Fees are now PAST DUE! | |
Attention Parents:
Be aware that any unpaid student fees are now PAST DUE!
TPCA did allow a grace period of 30 days on student fees that were due on August 1, therefore, any student fees unpaid on August 31 are now considered late.
Please send in your payment or contact the Business Office to set up a payment plan in order to avoid disablement of Parent Portal access and your student's report card being withheld.
if your family qualified in 2011-12 school year for the Federal Free or Reduced lunch program, your qualification ends on September 30, 2012, and you must reapply by October 1 for the 2012-2013 school year for continued benefits and Free/Reduced discounts on student fees. Applications are available at the school office.
If you would like to receive discounted student fees for the 12-13 school year on your Free Lunch, Reduced Lunch or Employee status, you must
a. Make full payment by August 31, 2012 or have a payment plan in place with the Business Office by Friday September 21. Otherwise you will lose your Free or Reduced Lunch discount and be responsible for 100% of the student fee.
b. Provide a copy of your 12-13 qualification letter to the school office.
Thank you for being accountable for your student's fees. |
