September 20, 2012September/2012

Parents,

As we move closer to October count and the finalization of our budget for the 2012-2013 school year, we find ourselves facing some tough decisions.  Enrollment is not at budgeted levels and changes will need to be made.

At the Finance Committee level we are discussing ways to cut our current budget to operate for the remainder of the school year.  The Finance Committee may have to make recommendations to the Board of Directors that will impact our students in the classroom.

You can help us avoid budget cuts and program changes in two ways.

-Recruit more students to enroll by October 1

We currently have openings in 1st, 2nd, Middle School and High School.  Do you know a family who would be a great fit for TPCA?  Invite them to tour the school.  A personal recommendation, a story of success, or an invitation from you may help us meet our financial goals.

-Participate in the Finance Meetings

The Finance Committee is working hard to find solutions that will support our Mission and Vision for the school and input is needed.  Grant Research, Writers and Fundraisers are needed to further develop our 5 year plan.  The Finance Committee Meets at 5:30pm the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.

As a parent directed school of choice your participation matters.

Ask others to join us today- make a difference for tomorrow.

Thank you,

Don Young, Treasurer

Kathy DeMatteo, Marketing Committee Chair

OCTOBER COUNT:

October count is a very important time of the year for all schools in Colorado. The October count determines the funding that our school receives from the state. Accurate October counts ensure TPCA receives the funding that enables us to hire and retain the best staff and offer excellent academic programming in a safe and encouraging environment. It is important that students are in attendance throughout this time so that an accurate count of the number of students TPCA has is recorded. The October count window starts on Monday, Sept. 24th and runs to Monday, October 8th. Should you have questions, please contact Marilyn Putrah zt putrah_marilyn@svvsd.org
