We are moving at a slow but steady pace toward our goal of $25,000 to Jump Start our Athletic Program.
To date we have collected $2000 and an in-kind donation of $1200. Which makes me ask the question- Are we doing all we can to support this effort?
Each of us comes in contact with a person or business every day that could help with our efforts. Have you talked to the owner? Asked your employer? Considered if your business can help support the school?
Please consider printing this LETTER and handing it to at least 2 people who would be good supporters of TPCA's efforts this year. Businesses can receive a year of publicity for just $500!
How valuable is that? A quarter page ad in the local paper is $250 for a one time insertion. Do not underestimate the impact a donation to our school could have on the business. We have 1080 students enrolled for 2011-2012, we will run multiple sporting and community events bringing in people from outside of the TPCA community, we will have grandparents, aunts and uncles involved and observing our students.
What if your kids are in Kindergarten?
It may seem hard to believe but athletics programs begin as early as 3rd grade at TPCA. Informal running and active groups are a key cultural piece of who we are. Our mission speaks to educating the whole child by offering a diverse set of experiences, athletics helps with that goal. A small donation goes a long way! We are a new School, by the time your Kindergarten (or elementary) student reaches Middle School do you want a fully developed athletic program that will be challenging physically and competitively? The planning starts today!
Why not Music and Art?
Music and art are supported by the curriculum at TPCA and the standards set by the state. The competitive athletic program is in jeopardy because of budget cuts and continuing declines in state funding. We seek to complete the gym facilities and create a place for revenue generation through concessions, tournaments, and entrance fees. Music and Art will be addressed in future fundraising efforts beginning in the 2012-2013 school year.
If each family donates $30 we will meet our goal and take a solid step toward the development of our Athletic program. More will offer us opportunities to buy needed sports equipment and set up a 501(c)3 for future foundation building.
