National Schools of Character Recognition
Application By TPCA
Twin Peaks Charter Academy recently applied for the Colorado State Schools of Character and National Schools of Character (SSOC/NSOC) Recognition for 2012. The purpose of the SSOC/NSOC awards program is twofold:
1) To identify exemplary schools and districts to serve as models for others; and
2) To help schools and districts improve their efforts in effective character education.
Every school or district that applies for SSOC/NSOC status sees character development as integral to its mission. In receiving a site review, Twin Peaks Charter Academy will have exposure and hosting opportunity serve as a model for other schools in Colorado by sharing our innovative and successful character education ideas and practices. Though TPCA did not make the finals, the site review team invited TPCA to stay connected to the Foundation for Character Development and CEP as partners in our character education journey. The written rubric review is available at the front office should you seek a copy or by clicking here. SSOC/NSOC Special thanks to our PBS committee and other teaching staff in organizing the grant and receiving a site visit. The work completed in preparing our SSOC/NSOC application is a significant step in understanding the measurable current status of our character education efforts at Twin Peaks Charter Academy.

BOOKS NEEDED
Research shows that when a child has access to a variety and abundance of books along with sustained time to read, their reading performance and motivation to engage in reading improve. Our K-3rd grade teachers are in need of gently used (or new!) books to improve their classroom library selections. If you have gently used or new books that your child does not use anymore, our teachers and students would benefit immensely from these treasures. Books can be sent to the following contacts to be distributed among their grade levels:Kindergarten-Mrs. Gardunio
First grade-Mrs. CasanuevaSecond grade-Mrs. Jarvis
Third grade-Mrs. Higgins | FOR YOUR DONATIONS.

HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS
Please pay HS fees separately.
When making payments for your high school student's fees, please ensure that the cash or check payment does not include fees for your elementary or middle school students.
Also, since we maintain separate accounts for high school, we ask that you bring your payment (check or exact cash) to the high school office east campus.
You are also welcome to pay online with your Debit or Credict card through Revtrak
This will help us credit student fees more efficiently and reduce the chances of error.
Thank you! | | |
