MS ATHLETICS

Congratulations to MS Girls and Boys basketball teams.
They had two great seasons culminating in great games at the district tournaments.
Way to go Timberwolves!
We also wanted to thank all the coaches and parents for their support.

We are looking forward to co-ed soccer and Track & Field in the spring

BOOKS NEEDED

Research shows that when a child has access to a variety and abundance of books along with sustained time to read, their reading performance and motivation to engage in reading improve. Our K-3rd grade teachers are in need of gently used (or new!) books to improve their classroom library selections. If you have gently used or new books that your child does not use anymore, our teachers and students would benefit immensely from these treasures. Books can be sent to the following contacts to be distributed among their grade levels:
Kindergarten-Mrs. Gardunio
First grade-Mrs. Casanueva
Second grade-Mrs. Jarvis
Third grade-Mrs. Higgins
Thank you for your donations.

Character Trait of the Week:

Keep promises, build trust by following through on  your words and commitments.

BORROWED CLOTHING

If your student has borrowed clothing from the Health Office, please wash and return the items as soon as possible.

Remember to use and reload your King Soopers Cards to support the PTO.

Funds earned support our teachers, students and family activities.

HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS

Please pay HS fees separately.

When making payments for your high school student's fees, please ensure that the cash or check payment does not include fees for your elementary or middle school students.
Also, since we maintain separate accounts for high school, we ask that you bring your payment (check or exact cash) directly to the high school office east campus.
You are also welcome to pay online through Revtrak
This will help us credit student fees more efficiently and reduce the chances of error.
Thank you!
YMCA
The YMCA offers early release day programs on site at TPCA, for all early release days.  You do not need to be a member to sign up for these!  Simply visit the YMCA website  longmontymca.org
and print out a registration form, then return it to the Child Care Director, Giselle Lehmann, or drop it off in the cafeteria after school.  If you have any questions regarding these programs, or want to pick up a registration form in person, please stop by the cafeteria after school, or call Giselle Lehmann @
(720) 652-4731.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you

Teens can apply for summer jobs with Boulder County Youth Corps
Boulder County residents ages 14-17 can now apply for summer jobs with the Youth Corps.
Girls especially are encouraged to apply. Applications are available online and at counseling
offices in schools. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, March 30.

The Youth Corps offers one of the best first job opportunities available in Boulder County.

Up to 160 teenagers will be hired to work 30 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, from

June 18 to August 8 on a variety of community service projects.

Projects will include such activities as thinning forests, building trails, constructing fences and

doing historic preservation and landscaping. Corps members will earn a starting hourly wage

of $7.64, with the possibility of earning a $100 bonus at the end of the program based on merit

and strong attendance. Teens who have worked for the Corps in past years can earn up to

$8.14 an hour.

"Youth Corps was an awesome opportunity for me to learn new things about our environment and myself" one of last summer`s Corps members said of the experience.

For more information or to download an application, visit www.BoulderCounty.org/YouthCorps.

MEDICATIONS AND SCHOOL

The Health Office cannot administer medication to students without a Permission to Medicate Form completed and signed by both parent and physician.  Also, students may not carry medication to or from school without a physician granting them permission to carry medication.

You can find more information about the SVVSD policies regarding medication by visiting  http://www.twinpeakscharter.org/elementary/health

Infinite Campus Tips

Many parents have been calling in to say that either they or their student cannot access Infinite

Campus. Here are some things to consider:

1) Are you using the correct username and password? If you try to log in three times, your

account will automatically be disabled. Please write down your username and password and leave

it in a safe place. If you have lost it, please contact Beverly Weinberg.

2) Do you have any outstanding fees? Contact Michele Mansanares in the business/finance

office to find out if this is why your IC is disabled, and to set up payment options.

3) If #1 and #2 are not the issue, please contact Beverly Weinberg. She will need to contact the

district to remedy the problem.

IC is not a planner so it won't show future assignments. All elementary and middle school

students received planners in August (or when they enrolled), and high school students have the option to purchase planners. Please encourage and work with your child to use the planner to

track assignments.

Thank you.

Flagstaff Academy is doing a great job of collecting their Box Tops!

The school that collects the most Box Tops by the end of the year will get a treat from the opposing school.
