SUNSHINE DENTAL CLINIC January 24, 2012
Every year we welcome the Sunshine Dental Club and a volunteer dentist to conduct a dental clinic in our Health Office. The clinic is for students that are in Grades 1-5, who do not have medicaid or dental insurance, and who have not been seen by a dentist in a year or more. Please watch your student's Thursday folder right after Winter Break for a permission form to fill out and return. We must have the permission form and your child must qualify in order to be seen by the dentist. Have a wonderful holiday and a very Happy New Year! Kathy Coombe, Health Office | | |

The 1,000,000 Minute Reading Challenge started on Monday, December 5.
Mr. Buchmann has challenged our K-6 student body to read 1,000,000 minutes between December 5 and February 24. Students can count minutes they read by themselves, parents or others read to them, and time spent reading to others, at both home and school.
Our goal is for every student to read 30 minutes a day, at least five days a week.
If our school meets the 1,000,000 minute goal, then Mr. Buchmann will dress up in a silly costume for an entire school day. There will be exciting prizes for K-5 and 6th grade levels.
In this issue we would like to Thank to one of the two sponsors. STAPP INTERSTATE TOYOTA - SCION

SCIENCE FAIR NEEDS VOLUNTEER JUDGES !!!!
This year's science fair will be held on Thursday and Friday, January 12 and 13. We still need volunteers to come and help judge the students' science fair projects. Science background not required. Please consider being a judge this January. It only takes about an hour, and it is very rewarding to see the quality and excellence of the finalists' projects. Judging will take place all day from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
You may come in at anytime on either the 12th or 13th to help judge.
Thanks for your support, and see you at the fair!

We are also having another popcorn party contest. The elementary class and middle school/high school class that collects the most Box Tops by February 18 will win a popcorn party.
All Box Tops turned in count towards both contests.
