SCIENCE FAIR NEEDS VOLUNTEER JUDGES !!!!

This year's science fair will be held on Thursday and Friday, January 12 and 13. We still need volunteers to come and help judge the students' science fair projects. Science background not required. Please consider being a judge this January. It only takes about an hour, and it is very rewarding to see the quality and excellence of the finalists' projects. Judging will take place all day from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
You may come in at anytime on either the 12th or 13th to help judge.

Please contact the science fair coordinator,  Brian Birch  birch_brian@svvsd.org to sign up.

Thanks for your support, and see you at the fair!

The makers of Infinite Campus have released an app that will help you if you use Infinite Campus and have an Apple mobile device.

The app allows parents and students to track grades, attendance and announcements without having to login to the website or use a browser.
Users may select how they would like to be notified on the app.  They may select to have a notification sent anytime a grade changes or anytime an attendance event takes place.
Many folks have begun using it and are really liking it.

To download the app, navigate on your smartphone or other mobile device to The iTunes Store.

December 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commons

7th-10th grade choir students need to remember to arrive in Mrs. Freeman's room by 6:30 p.m.

The students have been rehearsing for months and are ready to perform for you!

Please come join us for an evening of music and merriment!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Freeman.

The 1,000,000 Minute Reading Challenge started on Monday, December 5.

Mr. Buchmann has challenged our K-6 student body to read 1,000,000 minutes between December 5 and February 24. Students can count minutes they read by themselves, parents or others read to them, and time spent reading to others, at both home and school.

Our goal is for every student to read 30 minutes a day, at least five days a week.

If our school meets the 1,000,000 minute goal, then Mr. Buchmann will dress up in a silly costume for an entire school day. There will be exciting prizes for K-5 and 6th grade levels.

PLANNED ABSENCES

When students have an absence that is planned ahead of time AND is one full school day or more, a Pre-arranged Absence form must be completed and submitted to Brandie Yeutter, Attendance Clerk. PAA forms can be picked up at the Front Office or downloaded from

http://www.twinpeakscharter.org/files/Attendance/TPCA%20Pre-Arranged%20Absence%20Form.pdf .

For 1-2 day absences, the form goes on file.  For absences that are 3 or more days, the PAA form will be completed by teachers and sent home with the student.  Per TPCA policy, students have 5 excused vacation days per school year.  If you have any questions, please contact Brandie Yeutter at (720) 494-3606 or yeutter_brandie@svvsd.org.
