Each week, we strive to give you the best and most informative Howl and Volunteer Newsletter.

Articles are submitted to us from teachers, staff, parent volunteers and area businesses or agencies.

At times there may be incorrect grammar or misspellings.

Please forgive us.

We work toward communicating various types of information in a timely manner.

Drive Line Safety and Efficiency:

Parents,

Thanks for your continued support and cooperation in making the Drop Off/Pick Up process operate efficiently. We continue to monitor the process and hopefully find ways to improve it. From time to time we will put Helpful hints in the HOWL:

  1. Please pull up as far as possible in the line before stopping to drop off/pick up your student(s).
  2. Encourage your student to be ready to leave/enter the vehicle quickly.
  3. When exiting the drive line please do so Cautiously and Slowly.
  4. Please follow the traffic flow patterns as you enter and leave the site.
5TH AND 6TH GRADE  2011-12 SKI PASSPORTS
 ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

5TH GRADE PASSPORT
For the past 15 years, nearly 200,000
families have participated in
Colorado Ski Country USA's 5th Grade Passport Program.
This year, Colorado Ski Country USA's 5th Grade Passport Program provides participants with three free days of skiing or snowboarding at each of our 21 member resorts. Ski all 63 days or just a few; the 5th Grade Passport is still the best value in Colorado
6TH GRADE PASSPORT
Your kid's in 6th grade, not 5th? No problem. Colorado Ski Country USA's 6th Grade Passport Program provides
participants with four days of skiing or snowboarding at each of our 21 member resorts for a mere $99. That amounts to 84 awesome days on the slopes for a mere $1.20 per day. There is not a better deal on the planet for 6th graders.
Parent volunteers are checking into a possible Twin Peaks
Ski Day sometime in January at Eldora Ski Resort. More information forthcoming, and please visit;

From the Health Office
Hello TPCA Parents!  The Health Office has been a busy place already this year!  A few of you have already popped your heads in our door and asked how you can help, and I appreciate your willingness to provide for our students here at Twin Peaks.
I do have several items that the Health Office is in
need of and would appreciate donations.
Gallon & quart sized Ziplock bags
New large boys or girls underwear, washed
Crackers (Zesta or Premium brand for our Nut
allergy students)
Bottle of Children's Tylenol or Ibuprofen
Girls socks (White)
Juice boxes

If you donate items, please let Bevery Weinberg
(weinberg_beverly@svvsd.org) know how much the
donation is worth, and she will apply it toward your time, treasure and talent hours.
Thanks so much, Kathy Coombe
Reading challennge
TPCA will be having a reading challenge again this year! Because students easily read 600,000 minutes last year, this year the challenge has been increased
to the 1,000,000 Minutes Reading Challenge. Students grades K-6 will participate in the reading challenge. The reading challenge will officially run
December 5 to February 24.
Our cost is estimated at $350 - $500 for student
incentives, materials, and prizes per classroom.
We are seeking to partner with local businesses in support of the 1,000,000 Minutes Reading Challenge. Invitation to come in and read to one of the winning classes.

Sponsor recognitions would consist of the following:

- Thank You article in the Howl for 3 weeks  (our  parent  weekly newsletter)

- Banner in the school with the business name as a sponsor

- Personal letter

- Plaque to hang in the business

- Board recognition

- Public recognition on our TPCA marquis over a weekend

- Photo to send to local media

- Invitation to come in and read to one of the classes who are one of the winners

If you are a business owner, or work for a business that has funds available for donations, please

 consider

sponsoring the 1,000,000 Minutes Reading Challenge.

THE  6th ANNUAL

TPCA PTO NO BAKE SALE HAS BEGUN !!!

This is our  BIG, YEARLY  Fundraising Drive!  All we're asking for is cash donations! There is no selling, no inventory to deliver, and definitely NO BAKING! We hope to raise $25,000 this year and average around  $40 per student. Any amount that your family is able to donate (tax deductible)

will help us tremendously! You can ask your friends and family to make a monetary contribution,

and many employers have a Matching Gifts Program. Every dollar counts! We will graciously
accept donations throughout the year.
We will end the No Bake Sale Drive on November 10 so that we can deliver the participation prizes and conduct the prize drawings. We have very cool prizes this year!

The funds we raise directly support the students, staff, teachers, and the campus.

The PTO financially assists and supports many functions and activities:

 * Teacher/ Classroom Supplies

 * Field Trip Assistance

 * Volunteer Appreciation

 * 6th Grade Outdoor Ed

 * 8th Grade Graduation

 * Family/Student Social Events

 * Conference Meals

 * As feasible, and as requested, we support all the various groups,  clubs and teams....and

SO MANY other things during the year. The PTO is always open to input and suggestions from parents, and we strongly encourage you to come to our meetings! For additional information on

the No Bake Sale, or how to help the PTO, please contact any of the PTO Members!
